Guest guest
Enzymeare naturally present in raw foods but are cooked out of most of our diet. We have enzymes in our digestive juices and saliva, but they can be diluted or counteraccted. Also the abilityto digest certain molecules - such as lactose - declines with age. As for Hydrochloric acid, it can help digestion if you are not producing enough, but most people do not need more acid. A slightly alkaline diet is preferable. This can be confusing because - if you drink water with lemon squeezed in it, it would seem to be acidic, but when it is absorbed by the body it becomes alkalinizing. Enzymes are powerhouses - cleaning up necrotic tissues and breaking large molecules into assimilable ones. Get some spirulina too to take with your meals - it is a live green food - or liquid vitamins, such as Body Balance or Body Complete http://www.newcenturylife.com/?id=6946which has enzymes, aloe vera and lots more in an easily digested, easily assimilated form. L feel better already , but want to know if we produce enzymes naturally or is this something that only comes from your diet ?
Guest guest
I think you are arguing at cross purposes here...... If by taking the juice of a lemon - AN ACID - you become more "alkalized", then would it not follow that by taking betaine hydrochloride - the "acid" pills, that you would be assisting your body likewise ... by taking more digestive hydrochloric acid into your system? Thus it is counter to your argument that "most people do not need 'more acid' ". Yes?
