Guest guest
WOW! So much disinformation in one or two emails. Caffeine is bad. Period. Black tea has caffeine. American dairy products cause cancer. Fact. Milk is banned from my diet and those I love. Here you are arguing over black tea with or without milk, Jesus, you should be telling your readers to avoide black tea and milk at all costs. Furthermore commercial teas and tea bags are full of mold and pesticides. Just don’t put that stuff in your body. Unless you want to continue being a mind slave to the system of greed and poison and cut and burn. Peace Bob Jones on 6/1/03 7:45 AM, DR. Ratan Singh at ratans wrote: All this recent news, small excerpt reproduced below for context, about Tea is great. Black tea is indeed great. But I will like to raise few issues. You see, the situation is not that simple. Researchers in New Zealand and Dr. Hulda Clark are of the opinion that black tea produces oxalic acid stones in kidneys. How to prevent them? Well, the prescription according to the two above sources is that you take milk with tea. The milk should have at least three per cent fat. Sorry for those scared of cholesterol. But use other ways to control the bad cholesterol. You need milk. Now you can either drink five cups of black tea as prescribed and drink milk separately or you mix milk in tea. I think mixing milk with tea is better because immediately the milk will take care of the oxalic acid. But if you let the stones form due to black tea and then, say after some hours, drink milk, then you are stressing your kidneys to do the job of cleaning the oxalic acid stones. There was one study that reported that the benefit of tea is lost if it is taken with milk. But I doubt the logic of the researchers there. The reason is that unless they add a group of subjects who drink tea with milk, how can they compare black tea with and without milk. Just because they did not use such a group of subjects they should not guess that milk would have wiped out the benefit. In fact no study to my knowledge has compared tea with milk against tea without milk in terms of flavonoids and other antioxidants. The researchers' logic was based on non-exitent data as follows. They perhaps thought: " Because we did not have a group of subjects drinking tea with milk, therefore that style of tea-drinking does NOT do good " . But how can you conclude a negative conclusion from non-existent data? YOU NEED POSITIVE DATA EVEN TO CONCLUDE A NEGATIVE RESULT. By the way green tea does not form oxalic acid stones. Only black tea does. But green tea is not easily available here in India. So, I have found my personal solution (Warning: May not be suitable for others). Having read that marijuana is 20 times more powerful an antioxidant than ascorbate and alpha tocopherol, I buy green leaves of marijuana from government-licenced shop here in India, I don't boil them, I use them to make tea---my green tea!!! I also drink four cups of black tea and three cups of milk with three per cent of fat. Sometimes, out of temptation, I drink some cups of tea with milk added. But remember the rule: Prepare your whatever-type-of-tea the way the British do it, that is, don't boil the leaves. All the Listies, PLEASE correct me if I went wrong anywhere in my above mail. I will be obliged. Thanks in anticipation of comments. Ratan. - Elaine <mem121 *§ @y <@y> Saturday, May 31, 2003 12:40 AM Benfits of Tea drinking/Blood pressure The current issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences carries a study from Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital in which researchers isolated L- theanine from black tea. (L-theanine is also found in green and oolong tea.) The researchers hypothesized this brief biology lesson: When L-theanine enters the liver, it's converted to a molecule called ethylamine that helps facilitate the work of gamma- delta T cells. These cells promote the secretion of interferon - an important compound that helps the body fight an assortment of infections: viral, parasitic, fungal, and bacteria. The key word in this paragraph (as we'll see in a moment) is " interferon. " Using a group of 21 subjects, researchers took blood samples from all, then had 10 of them drink five cups of coffee each day for four weeks, while 11 drank five cups of black tea each day for the same period. At the end of the test period more blood was drawn from each subject. All of the blood samples were then exposed to E-coli bacteria. In response to the bacteria, the blood cells from the tea drinkers secreted five times the amount of interferon as blood samples taken from the same subjects before the test period. The amount of interferon secreted by the blood samples of the coffee drinkers was the same, both before and after the test.
Guest guest
Bob-- With all its proven anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, do you also consider GREEN TEA to be a no-no---even though it contains caffeine? Was doing a search on something else and came across a link for OLIVE LEAF TEA....never heard of it before....do you (or anyone) know anything about OLIVE LEAF TEA? It sounds quite promising for an all-round health tonic, from what I have been reading about it lately.... deb , Bob Jones <bj@c...> wrote: > WOW! > > So much disinformation in one or two emails. > > Caffeine is bad.
