Guest guest
Hi Walt. The things that I know that work for some people. Calcium, magnesium and potassium. Also read recently that a nurse tested her whole high blood pressure family's bp before and after rebounding on a rebounder and it was 15 points lower in all of them after just a few minutes of bouncing. I thought that was impressive. I just got a rebounder and am learning all kinds of fun info about it. Really pretty remarkable. Guest guest
Walt - I’m not sure, but I have heard too much (or is it not enough?) niacin will begin to cause a tingling sensation in your extremities. Does anyone know? I think I would stay away from animal products – doesn’t the fat tend to clog up the arteries so the blood can’t get through as easily? Guest guest
start taking omega 3 flax oil. I get mine from Walgreens. works wonders. However I don't smoke or partake of alcohol. I know, it's pretty boring. But I am a big heavy guy and had a high BP problem, I couldn't get rid of and now it's pretty normal. Works for me.... Guest guest
<<The things that I know that work for some people. Calcium, magnesium and potassium. >> Raw garlic works too. Also, I find that after I lift weights for 50 minutes, my blood pressure is significantly lower - just the opposite of what many teach. Lifting weights regularly for me has lowered my BP at all times during the day. Jay

Guest guest
Walt, I've got people right off their blood pressure and cholesterol meds by improving their nutritional profile. I'd recommend liver flushes, parasite cleansing, and eliminating dietary canola, corn, and soy (pourable) oils that contribute to a huge free radical load. Use butter, lard, and especially coconut oil. Take antioxidants, lot of them. Vitamin B-complex. Minerals... Duncan Crow > > > HI Folks: In the last year my blood pressure has gotten high. Guest guest
Excess fat can slow blood flow; however lumping the fats together under a common heading is not wise. They all have different attributes. Coconut oil reduces triglycerides 17% for example, while canola oil increases them 45%. Coconut, an MCT saturated fat, doesn't require cholesterol transport; canola, an unsaturated oil does, and the free radicals produced by it oxidize the cholesterol and make it sticky. The Lancet published a study that analyzed arterial plaque. The researchers found the plaque was comprised of 75% unsaturated oils, half of which were polyunsaturated. They come only from the diet. Cholesterol is not a valid indicator of predisposition to atherosclerosis. OXIDIZED cholesterol is however, but they're not using is as a marker. The cholesterol oxidizes in the presence of unsaturated oils but not saturated fats, which explains why there's no correlation between amount of cholesterol and degree of atherosclerosis. In fact, people and long-lived mammals who eat saturates are healthier and live longer. To better understand the oils, read top oils researcher Mary Enig's " Oiling of America " , her book " Know Your Fats " , or some of her work on Dr. Mercola's web site. I have also posted a lot of the reference material on my own page. Oiling of America for example outlines how we've been snowed by industry, including the Heart Foundation. You'll be pleasantly surprised at all the references. Hi Duncan: I'm on Albuterol for Asthma. I've dumped alot of nasty other meds from the Va. I've read Albuterol can cause high blood pressure. I think the breathers are next to go. Then I can access how much the meds had have done to create my rexisting problems. Gone off Acid blockers completely for Gerd and Barrets Asphagus as thier side effects were intensive and to me not worth taking for that reason. That has helped some! Even now have the Gerd under control. Guest guest
Walt-- You have received numerous good suggestions regarding nutrition and supplements and so on. Here are two more important suggestions for you. First, high blood pressure in many people is apparently related to chronic hyperventilation. If you snore, have sleep apnea, breathe through your mouth a lot, hold your breath a lot, or are a fast, upper-chest breather, you probably hyperventilate--breathe too much air to fast for the conditions in which you find yourself. This causes your arteries and veins to vasoconstrict, which, of course, can cause high BP. If indeed you are one of the many people who do hyperventilate (some researchers now say it is instrumental in some 200 diseases, including high blood pressure), you will need to learn to breathe only through your nose (even when walking, running, etc.) and breathe more slowly and with your entire body. There's more information on my website about all of this. Second, some researchers, including Dr. Barry Sears (originator of the Zone), also point out that insulin control is very important, as is taking omega-3 fatty acids in the form of pharmaceutical-grade fish oil. You can learn on my website about the differrences between this kind of fish oil and the kind you find in health food stores, drug stores, etc. Give the fish oil a try. You will probably need to take at least 5 grams a day, so you better use the purest, most potent form you can find, as the info on my website explains. With my best wishes, Dennis Lewis http://www.authentic-breathing.com , walt <kortron@s...> wrote: > HI Folks: In the last year my blood pressure has gotten high. Guest guest
Walt, It depends on what is causing your HBP. For example, if you have a mineral imbalance, than taking magnesium and/or potassium might help. However, if you have toxic metals in your blood, then magnesium and/or potassium will not help. The first thing that you need to do is try to determine what is causing your BP to rise, and if it is high all of the time. You need to measure your BP throughout out the day and keep a log of it, and all activities of the day, until you can find out what is causing it to rise. By analyzing the log, look for a pattern. For example, Is it high just after getting up in the morning? Does it go up after eating meals? Is it higher inside of your house or outside? Does it vary much during the day? Is there day to day variations? Is it high before going to sleep? -- Donald E. It completely debunks the lipid hypothesis. > >> I think I would stay away from animal products - doesn't the fat >> tend to clog up the arteries so the blood can't get through as easily? > > Carol >> That's what oil manufacturers want you to think. What they are saying is that the natural fats and oils that have nourished humanity for millenea are bad and that newfangled, manufactured oils are healthy. The fact is that when most all culinary oils were from natural sources, mostly animal fats; olive, coconut and palm oils, cancer and heart disease were rare. With the replacement of these natural oils with manufactured oils, these diseases have become the first and second biggest killers. OK, so cholesterol causes coronary heart disease (CHD) because they are always present at points of arterial blockage. Using the same reasoning, we can conclude that because firemen are always present at house fires, there firemen cause house fires. Policemen are always present where armed robberies occur, therefore policemen cause armed robberies.
