Guest guest
Carol M, I believe the body is best at fixing itself if you give it all the benefits of good health. Does anyone have a good list of foods really dense in nutrition. When you can't take the calories, it gets harder to get all the nutrition. I have Royal Bee Jelly for B vitamins. I have ground flax seed for omega fats and many other nutrients. I also use flax seed oil and olive oil. I take a probiotic with several different bacteria for intestinal health that is 'enteric coated' so that it gets passed the stomach acid and into the intestines without so many being killed and eat yogurt for probiotic effect in GI tract for stomach and above. I heard someone say in this group that not much gets beyond the stomach and that is true *unless* you use one that is enteric coated. I get mine at a fine health food store that has them refrigerated to improve the quality. I still don't get how enzymes work. Are they live? Do you have to eat them 'with meals' etc? Do they do any good by themselves or just with food. Probiotics stay with you. I don't know about enzymes. I eat frequent small meals so seems I would be taking too many unless I break them into small pieces. Anyone know of some other super nutritious foods, 'super foods' I guess the term is? barb --- Carol Minnick <carolminnick wrote: > Hi Barb, > > I question the wisdom of any of the isolated > elements such as hormones. > It would seem to me that this is a way to throw > our bodies out of > balance attempting a quick fix rather than > working with nutrition and > wholefood supplements that are nutrient dense, > including plant-based > enzymes and probiotics, to bring our bodies > into balance. Guest guest
Barb, You are absolutely right – give the body what it needs – it will fix itself. It has an innate ability to repair and heal – just look at when you cut your finger – it heals. You break a bone – it heals. Your body will heal – give it the nutrients it needs. I use blue green algae – it is the most nutrient-dense superfood on the planet. www.bluegreensolutions.com Enzymes – you can get some that are live, but not many companies have live enzymes. I think I mentioned on this list before how to find out if the ones you have are live or not – buy some of those 3-pack already made puddings. Open up a capsule of enzymes and stir it into one of the cups of pudding. If it liquefies, then the enzyme is active and live. If it stays thick, then it’s dead and won’t do anything in your body either. The plant-based live enzymes that I use are these: http://tinyurl.com/ey8l Yes, you would normally eat the enzymes with food – especially with “dead” food that has been cooked, nuked, preserved, etc. Anything heated to over 115 deg. no longer has active enzymes. So eat an apple, instead of apple pie. The apple has active enzymes, the apple pie doesn’t (even thought it tastes better J ). If you eat enzymes between meals, when they don’t have food to work on, then they can go to work in your system and help to get rid of fatty deposits. With your frequent small meals, if I were you I’d take at least one per meal, unless you eat a totally raw meal, then extra enzymes are not so important. Guest guest
Barb, The enzymes I use take only about a minute to liquefy the pudding. Just open up a capsule and stir it gently into the pudding. Others I have tried don’t do anything at all, no matter how long they’re in the pudding. Guest guest
Well, we are both in our 60s, and were into the flax seed and Cottage cheese, the supplements here and the supplements there - now take a homeopathic mix to stimulate the Pituitary, C, B complex for sandfly bites, and a Horseradish/Garlic etc mix for 'flu, and have seen tremendous results. Wife has had her facial skin tighten up, her boobs are assuming a 'youthful shape and texture' [her words], stamina has increased, fat tissue is melting off, and wide-awakeness is way higher than it has been - and muscle level is growing every day. As for 'morning glories' - make the last thing at night once a week look like a memory!! So, as far as we are concerned, the HgH from the Pituitary stimulation is WELL WORTH WHILE.
