Guest guest
Barb, Sea vegetables are basically different types of seaweed. Very popular in Japan, Europe and the South Pacific. I'm sure there are many available...we use a product made from the limu moui plant. I prefer this one because of where it grows...in an unpolluted, non- industrilized area of the south pacific. Sea plants absorb all the wonderful nutrients from the sea, but will also absorb any toxic waste and other nasty stuff that's present in the water it grows in. Researchers at the Dept. of Health Care and Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia issued a report in June 2000 expressing concern over radiation and heavy metal contamination of seaweed harvested off the coasts of Japan, Canada and Norway. 6 out of every 8 samples were contaminated. It is not cooked...although some cultures do indeed eat it raw and cook it and have done so for thousands of years....but what we consume is a liquid...it's an extract made from the limu moui plant....quite tastey (my grandchildren take it with a bit of juice) and like it. I like mine straight. I have a website with general information on the limu moui plant..I have more detailed information that I could send you if you like. Also, Donald may know of a good source of information about sea vegetables, he seems quite well informed. Blessings.. Cheryl
