Guest guest
Donald, I'm really fasinated by all of this. Where does one learn more about whole food diets like this. I didn't know there was things called oat groats and whole wheat millet. I have long been interested in the topic of foods and diet. Took some college courses thinking of majoring in it but went in another direction. Do you have books you recommend or informative online sites? barb --- " Donald E. Guest guest
Barb, Since I had mercury poisoning twice (from where I used to work), a toxic mold exposure, and developed chemical sensitivity, I became interested in detoxification & healing. A true healing lifestyle (not just a simple diet), like macrobiotics, is what I tend to follow. The raw food diet is also good, but you need more training and your digestive system has to be in better shape. The best books on Macrobiotics are written by Michio Kushi and his wife, Aveline. Michio explains the theory and how it works, and Aveline explains how to put together recipes and cooking. Dr Sherry Rogers also has some books that explain how Macrobiotics works, from an Environment Illness view point. I also recommend that to be healthy, you must have four things: * Healing Diet * Exercise * Meditation * Detoxification You can mitigate the healing processes with vitamins, minerals, & food supplements, if you have deficiencies, but none of these thing will make up for not doing one or more of those four things. Keep in mind that the body must be in balance. Too much of one needed nutrient can cause an imbalance or deficiency in another needed nutrient, and the balance is always changing. Synthetic vitamins, minerals, and some food isolates may actually make you worse. Only your body can heal itself. It must have quality foods (unprocessed or naturally fermented), and constantly be detoxifying to do so. This is how our ancestors lived for thousands and thousands of years, and they did not have modern medicine to turn off symptoms or remove parts of their bodies to live. -- Donald E.
