Parents and Scientists Demand White House Conference on Autism RiseAfter Congressman Dan Burton sent a letter to President George Bush requesting a White House Conference to investigate the rise in autism, a reply in standard-letter format by the Bush Administration suggested that President Bush was too busy.A second request sent out by Congressman Burton on May 15th has received no response.Autism continues to rise. Thousands of parents and many scientists feel it is imperative to urge President Bush to hold an autism conference at the White House as soon as possible.On July 23rd, an important press conference will be held in Washington to discuss this issue. We want to understand why such a devastating epidemic is not getting well-deserved attention from the White House while strongly urging President Bush to reconsider. To help us make our point, several scientists will be speaking on our behalf. We need you there.We need to let the media know that parents, grandparents and caregivers will not stop this battle.
