Box 85, Versailles, Missouri 65084(573) 378-6049 (573) 378-5998 faxwww.gulfwarvets.com, gulfwarPRESS RELEASEFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEAUGUST 8, 2003NEW REVELATION SURFACES ABOUT GULF WAR II "MYSTERY ILLNESS"The American Gulf War Veterans Association (AGWVA), an independent Gulf WarVeterans' support organization, has long searched for answers to explain whynearly half of the 697,000 Gulf War I Veterans are now ill and why over200,000 of those servicemen/women have requested disability, but havereceived no adequate diagnosis or treatment, from either the Department ofDefense (DOD), or Veteran's Affairs. Though there have been over 125 studiesdone by the government at the cost of over $300,000,000 to the taxpayer, westill have no answers as to what caused so many of our soldiers to becomeill. Meanwhile, the suffering veterans are receiving little, if any, medical treatment for this illness. It seems that whenever veterans becomeill, the term "mystery illness" seems to be the first and often the onlydiagnosis that is ever made. Veterans are then left to fend for themselves, sick and unable to work, with little hope of a normal life again. The AGWVA is now again asking questions, this time, about the newest"mystery illness" to hit the military. After being pressured by a fewindependent news reporters who have not permitted this "mystery" to continueunabated, The DOD recently has been forced to announce the "mystery" deathsof Gulf War II soldiers and that at least 100 other men and women havebecome ill. Again, however, there were no adequate answers, but, only thatthe "mystery illness" diagnosis had reared its ugly head again. Accordingto a family member of one of the military victims, the DOD recently, haschanged its label of the illness and is now calling it "pneumonia" in sharpcontrast to what a physician on the scene reported. Due to continuingpressure for sound answers, the DOD was again forced to send aninvestigative team to Iraq, however the convenient, repeated lack ofdiagnosis, unfortunately translates into lack of treatment, and lack ofcompensation for the veteran. The jury is still out, however, if the DODwill be forthcoming with the truth this time.Contrary to the "pneumonia" and "mystery illness" labels, enlighteninginformation surfaced today on "THE POWER HOUR" radio show(www.thepowerhour.com) in an interview with Mark Neusche, father of JoshNeusche, one of the GW II troops to lose his life from the "mystery illness"while serving in Iraq. The father stated that his 20-year-old healthy son,a former track star and non-smoker, had written home on June 26th explainingthat he would be going on a 30-hour "hauling" mission, but that he could notdisclose what they would be hauling. The son had stated that he had been tothe Palace of Sadaam Hussein, and it was later learned that he was "hauling"at the Baghdad Airport.Marsha Paxson also appeared on the show, as she is the journalist who brokethe U.S. story for the Lake Sun Leader (www.lakesunleader.com). Although the"facts" behind this story are continually changing, Ms. Paxson is one ofthe few journalists who is remaining true to the facts of the originalstory. Ms. Paxson revealed in her articles that the father reported that hisson was not the only ill soldier. Neusche stated that while his son was ina coma at Landstuhl Hospital, the father overheard the nurses say that theywere expecting numerous sick troops to be brought in all at one time. Infact, the father actually witnessed approximately 55 other troops beingreceived by the hospital after they were transported by a military ambulance(bus). According to the father, the transported troops were exhibitingvarying degrees of the illness. Some walked, some were in wheelchairs andothers were on respirators. In the commotion, a doctor reported to thefather that his son was suffering from a "toxin." No mention of pneumoniawas ever made to him, nor was it ever reported in the medical record.Paxson and the AGWVA now question the diagnosis, the actual number of troopsthat were reported ill, and when the DOD first became aware of thisincident. One of the most surprising statements to come from The Power Hour interviewconducted on "The Genesis Network" was that while the son, Josh Neusche, wasa healthy young soldier on June 26, 2003, when he reported that he was goingto serve on the secret hauling mission, by July 1, 2003, he was in a coma, and that day was suddenly classified by the military, as medically retiredfrom the Army without Josh or his family's consent. Josh did not die untilJuly 12, 2003. Among other problems that this new classification createdwas that the DOD was no longer obligated to assist the family in getting toGermany to be with their son as he lay in a coma. Because the DOD would notprovide even so much as plane or taxi fare for the Neusche family, all 650members of the 203 Engineer Battalion each contributed $10.00 to make thefamily's final visit possible. The AGWVA is demanding answers in a timely fashion and according tospokesperson Joyce Riley, "We will not tolerate another whitewashing of atragedy against our veterans. It has happened too many times before with ourfailure to safeguard our troops, adequately diagnose and effectively treatthe victims of Agent Orange spraying, Project Shadshipboard-experimentation, and Gulf War Illness I. This time someone has tobe held accountable." Ms. Riley closed by saying, "Speaking out for ourpast and present sick veterans is the best way for Americans to support ourtroops!"The interview with Mark Neusche and Marsha Paxson can be heard at:www.thepowerhour.com click on the "GWII mystery illness interview."For more information on Gulf War illnesses, go to www.gulfwarvets.comFor more information on Project Shad, go to www.projectshad.org********If this email is cut short, changingplanet/messagesYou can help us make a difference. Guest guest
With this government and its unconstitutional, undeclared wars, it’s a pretty bad deal to join the service. But then, there are only a couple of reasons to join the armed services: 1: You are a patriot and think that your government is right no matter what and duty calls (although you could also be a patriot and not think that but then you wouldn’t join your government’s services unless your country was actually attacked); and 2. you are using them as a stepping stone to a career, if not using them for a career. But either way, this government in the 21st century doesn’t think of its citizens or its armed forces in the way that it did historically. You are expendable in terms of its goals. You wield poisonous weapons, and you get sick, and if you are lucky, you die. But they don’t even tell you what is going to happen. That way you can’t come back and claim health benefits that they would owe you had you stayed healthy. Catch the conundrum. It has just come out that the lines of support for this war (undeclared) in Iraq were for the first time in history, not laid out and staffed by the US armed forces themselves. But rather by private contractors. Read that like this: The lowest bidder won the contract. Then that lowest bidder tries to fulfill the contract with the least amount of cost to himself. He definitely wants to come in underbid in terms of his costs. Rah, rah, sah, sis boom bah. Go troops. Just fine verbiage. But don’t spend any money. Don’t give them any real support. This is no longer democratically elected republic. Why fight for it at all! It tries to make laws that determine what food is---against our wishes and knowledge; what medicine is---when those medicines are poisons; what freedom of speech is—public speech doesn’t count; what war is---constitutionally it has to be declared; and even what “free elections” are lol. We are at the point in our history that we need to defend ourselves in the numerous ways possible from the government. And quit defending them. ed Elaine [mem121] Sunday, August 10, 2003 9:04 PM § Paranormal_Research@y; *§ @y GULF WAR II " MYSTERY ILLNESS " American Gulf War Veterans Association Joyce Riley vonKleist, RN,BSN spokesperson P.O.
