Guest guest
Garlic works too. Eating it I mean, of course people around you will not be thrilled LOL. - Ed Siceloff Monday, August 18, 2003 2:59 PM RE: HEALTH Tidbits I just installed a radio fence for my dogs. What an ill-timed adventure. Its been raining, raining, raining here in W Pennsylvania. Then we had about a week of dry, warmer weather. Reckon everything was just waiting to hatch---bugwise. Got bites on my arms, legs, shoulders, etc.etc. Who knows whether the particular mosquito that decided to taste a few of my blood cells had anything or not. I just hope that the benefits of all the various herbs that I eat and drink, actually have my immune system roaring like a lion. I’ve used deet. But I really do hate it. I wear any of that kind of stuff and it makes my skin have a slight burning sensation. I don’t like that. Methinks that that is probably not healthy. And I know that deet is not healthy. But, on the other hand, sprayed on a few strategic places, like ones clothes or a bandana on the the head: That can still keep the little critters away from their much looked for feast. They are certainly pests if not anything else. Guest guest
I do eat garlic and loads of onions as well. And have the experience of keeping disease away, mosquitoes and other insects (doesn’t seem to work against hornets though), and, yes, people too. That sometimes makes for less hassle in life, except when it happens to be a close friend. . Another thing that helps is vitamin b1. I don’t know for what reasons. I ran out recently of the supplement b1. I was taking extra all summer, and hadn’t been bothered. Now that I am not taking it, I am getting bit. Course it could be other reasons as well. Halleluyah that I don’t get ticks and fleas when out in the yard and the woods. I think that the allicin is taking care of that. Bug repellants that I’ve used, including your suggestion, include chamomile wiped on exposed areas of the skin. Doesn’t last long while sweating though. Vanilla oil, diluted and wiped on skin. That last longer than the chamomile. Most of the pyrethrum family of flowers, I think that chamomile is in the family, all work for that. I’ve even tried the daisies, you know the ones that you learn to pick off petals and say “she loves me, she loves me not, she loves me, she loves me not” when you are a young child. They also seemed to work. But sometimes, black fly season, it seems necessary to put deet on ones clothes. Its so bad that you even to stand outside to put it on. I usually start sneezing as well as soon as I use it. I don’t like it. ed luckypig [luckypig] Monday, August 18, 2003 2:30 PM To: Ed//Re: HEALTH Tidbits Garlic works too.
