Guest guest
Following is from Dr. Sherri Tenpenny -- another reason to NOT get the flushot.Looks like we will have to re-do our flu fact sheet to accommodate thelatestingredients added to the influenza vaccines for the upcoming flu season.~IngriI'm writing an article for our office news letter on WHY not to get a flushot.Looking at the additives in the new shots, ran across this chemical....glycol p-isooctylphenyl ether. When I looked it up found this to be Triton X100 (on the www.Calbiochem.comsite). there are 4 versions of Triton X100 (basically a detergent andemulsifier). Look at the last line---same on EVERY form of the chemical.please pass on.Dr SherriRevised: 10-June-03TRITON® X-100, Molecular Biology GradeCat. Guest guest
I have never had a flu shot. I never wanted to deal with the pain of a shot and figured I would prefer the flu over a shot...now I am glad I was such a sissy about shots. Guest guest
I have parents that get the flu shot. Every year they also receive the flu. I link the two together but they don’t. Its rationalized that without the flu shot, they might have died (both are in their 70s). I’ve never had a flu shot, unless its something my parents got for me before I started to take care of myself. In the last 30 years (I’m 50) I can remember having the flu maybe twice, possibly 3 times. I feel like basically, I don’t get “the flu.â€Â Is there a correlation that I don’t get the flu because I don’t take flu shots and they get the flu because they do? Of course there is, along with a host of other factors as well. But, the question still remains, Does the flu shot really prevent one from getting the flu? I don’t think so. Ed Cindy Porter [pgmr_64804] Saturday, September 06, 2003 7:19 PM To: Re: Why NOT to Get a Flu Shot I have never had a flu shot. Guest guest
My boyfriend always gets the shot at his work, and he also gets sick once or twice a year too...I don't know if it is hte flu or a cold. I feel bad with a cold or flu at least once a year too, but no more than my boyfriend...and in addition to his regular sicknesses he gets sick from the shot. He thinks I am dumb for not taking the shot, but I just tell him that I will get my flu the old fashioned way and not from a shot. bye cindy
Guest guest
Ed, I believe the flu shot just covers one type of flu. If a different type of flu is going around and a person has a compromised immune system, then they will probably get it. Guest guest
My point exactly. Although I wasn’t thinking of the fact that each flu shot only covers the one strain of flu that the (I don’t who is in charge of this---not that anybody should be) that the so called authorities would think to be the most likely. Or, at least that is what they say. What if they were vaccinating for the one they actually thought was the least likely? That’d be a way to cheat people out of all those benefits they collect when they “retire.” I just quit my job, lost my benefits (they are so high in cost that I’m not willing to pay for them myself), sprained my ankle and am taking care of it myself (hopefully), and consider it my responsibility to eat correctly in order to maintain my immune system. I’ve done something correct over the years, as, while being out and contacting people daily, I don’t get sick with flu, or even hardly a cold. I do get recurrent sinus problems but I think I am discovering new information about that that might enable me to do away with that (without sinus cavity surgery---yuk). Of course, I think I sprained my ankle just to test resolve about health benefits, insurance. But, really, I go to the doctor, for an actual problem, and he asks me what I want him to do. So……But then, that is far better than a guy that insists on his own life threatening procedure. Perhaps I should reward my “doctor.” I just found it necessary to take myself out of the hands of professional health practitioners. I care more about my health than any of them do. I care about my money more than any of them do. And lest somebody should get antsy, when referring to “professional health practitioners” I’m not referring to naturopaths; chiropractors, nutritionists, massage therapists, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, etc.etc. Basically those types that are the only types covered by insurance plans. What need of the insurance (other than perhaps catastrophic) if one doesn’t use their doctors? Or flu shots? Guest guest
Ed, You’re right, and I think in a lot of cases that health insurance is not necessary – unless you end up with some catastrophic problem, like a car accident or some such thing. Then you would definitely need it, but of course you can’t foresee that. With your eating correctly and maintaining your immune system, you have health “assurance”. I have an interesting article (rather long) about natural remedies for sinus – if you’re interested, email me privately and I’ll send it to you. Guest guest
I remember one time a long time ago, I was working out at a gym in Pittsburgh next to a bookstore that I was operating. One day, another person there asked me what kind of health insurance I had. I said this. He said “What?” And I said “This.” Being able to take the time to workout everyday. And to eat right to facilitate that working out. There was of course a lot more to it than that, but………That was basically it. I’ve always wished that employers would offer us the health insurance or perhaps the chance to “split the difference” with them if we do not take the health insurance. I’ve had had health insurance for the previous 8 years. Aside from injuries, usually work related, I can count on the one hand the times I actually used it. And half the times with the work related injuries, I wouldn’t have used it there either except that the people I worked for insisted. They didn’t want to be liable for me using herbs to help myself. And sometimes, the work was so bad that I decided to go see the doc and get out of the work for an hour or so. Relief.
