What IS the working definition of religion? Is it only religions that are based on Scriptures? And the arguments for and against them? Or would a working definition of religion include stuff like witchcraft, at least in relation to the goddess and not necessarily in relation to herbs; new age spirituality; harmonic convergences that give thanks to Father Love and Mother Wisdom (could we perhaps be talking about Gaia here); and a host of other things. From my religious perspective these are all religions. I’d like to read about what is the working definition of religion. If mine, or perhaps a few others, are the only ones permitted, and I’m always being assaulted by these “things” then perhaps I shall consider leaving. I pusposely refrain from posting Yahweh events, and how Yahweh says that we should eat. Yet all this stuff which from the perspective of my own relgion is all pagan, I keep getting posts about If religion is banned, it should be all of them. Or, say which ones are not permitted. It is difficult to talk about life, or healing, without religious context, be that any one of the traditional religions, or any of the religions that are newer. I know that many consider these “newer” ones to be actually quite old, but lets consider them to be newer expressions of something much older. What is religion or the religious expression that is banned? How is it defined? It would appear to me to merely the things that are based on the Scriptures. Really. It is my experience that most people who want to talk incessantly about religion also have some kind of words or icon on the bumper of their car to show everyone how righteous the driver is. That is the kind of religion that Christ expressed disgust toward. There are a lot of ways to let one's light shine without having a " religious discussion. " I just finished watching Michael Moore's " Bowling for Columbine. " For me that shows has more real religion than all of the Bible quotes, etc. people claiming religiousity seem to fawn over. If you don't want to be here where this rule is enforced -- and that goes for so-called New Age religions too -- it is really simple. Leave and find a place more to your liking. Why on Earth would you want to be somewhere that you don't like to be? If you think that you are going to change the way this moderated list is, you only do so out of vanity! But wait!
