Guest guest
Mercury & RCT While we feel that root canal therapy (RCT) is often not indicated (see our report, Can RCT Make You Sick?), there are times when RCT is less a negative than extraction. In doing RCT, there are times when the tip of the root must be sealed by a surgical procedure, an ‘apicoectomy.’ They use mercury-amalgam to seal the tip -- sealed into the jaw! Insanity! For years we warned against this. New research agrees - shows that mercury toxically causes cell injury to the tissues around the root’s tip - to say nothing about systemic harm. They now suggest using cold burnished gutta-percha with AH26 sealer instead of the mercury-amalgam.
