Guest guest
ETHYLENEDIAMINETETRAACETIC ACID It cleans out arteries, kinda like a roto-rooter job of the ole tubes and pipes. The research kinda looks exciting, but I'm trying to find out if there are any contraindications. Guest guest
That too is my concern. I already know of a substance that has a similar effect which is natural and that is Apple Fruit Pectin. This is what they used in Chernobyl after the nuke accident. Guest guest
Dear Don, This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks so much. Since so many conditions lay dormant or hidden from view without extensive testing that costs an arm and a leg, it does make EDTA a bit of a turkey shoot even though it has obvious beneficial effects under the "right" conditions. And after all, as you said, it is synthetic. Do me a favor and cut and paste the below data into the files in some semblance of order under the heading of EDTA. I'll have to come up with a place to put it when I get the time, but if it's in there, I'll get to it shortly. So far I've come up with three different "natural" chelators / cleansers that do the exact same thing: Garlic (wouldn't you know it , Alfalfa, and Apple Fruit Pectin. I'm sure there are others, and I'll post 'em to the new file as I find 'em. ;o) Now - this is exciting research LOL. Much love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Don Quai Doc Monday, March 10, 2003 12:16 AM Re: [herbal remedies] EDTA Hi Doc, I found some info for ya, I hope it is what you are looking for. Don Quai From this site:: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic2/canaversenate_od.htm OVERDOSE Symptoms: inadvertent administration of 5 times the recommended dose, infused intravenously over a 24 hour period, to an asymptomatic 16 month old patient with a blood lead content of 56 mcg/dl did not cause any ill effects. Edetate calcium disodium can aggravate the symptoms of severe lead poisoning, therefore, most toxic effects (cerebral edema, renal tubular necrosis) appear to be associated with lead poisoning. Because of cerebral edema, a therapeutic dose may be lethal to an adult or a pediatric patient with lead encephalopathy. Higher dosage of edetate calcium disodium may produce a more severe zinc deficiency. Treatment: Cerebral edema should be treated with repeated doses of mannitol. Steroids enhance the renal toxicity of edetate calcium disodium in animals and, therefore, are no longer recommended. 7 Zinc levels must be monitored. Good urinary output must be maintained because diuresis will enhance drug elimination. It is not known if edetate calcium disodium is dialyzable. CONTRAINDICATIONS Edetate calcium disodium should not be given during periods of anuria, nor to patients with active renal disease or hepatitis. And from::::::::::: http://www.medicardium.com/suppository-chelation-protocol.htm Relative contraindications If a client is taking a drug that has a metallic element as an active ingredient (certain platinum containing chemotherapeutic agents for example), you should consult your physician. Tuberculosis, pregnancy, nursing, and kidney disease are also relative contraindications, as are any conditions where the blood is thin or the platelets are low. Keep in mind that EDTA can lower blood sugar with your hypoglycemic and diabetic patients. A drop of blood sugar from 270 to 120 in 4 days is not uncommon. Rectal fissures or rectal ulcer are a relative contraindication since Magnesium Di-Potassium EDTA can sting an open cut. Sometimes even the passing of a hard dry stool can cause nicks in the rectal mucosa and the suppository may sting. Rolling the suppository in olive oil before insertion can help decrease any stinging sensation. And this from a bulgarian site dealing with IV use: http://www.bpg.bg/sopharma/categories/401/40104edta_calcium_dinatrium.html SIDE EFFECTS:Toxic reactions have been observed with a dose of 2 g or more, daily. It causes toxic nephropathy, reduces the blood hemoglobin and the iron level in the serum, as well as the lever of vitamin B12. To avoid these injuries, vitamin B12 is recommended to be included in the treatment and iron-containing drugs - in case of long-term administration. Doesn't seem to be too much negative about the use of EDTA either orally or as a suppository. Seems to be more negative when used in IV's. Interesting stuff to say the least. I wonder, which is the lesser of two evils? Granted, all natural would be much better.

Guest guest
Jerry, do you mean intravenous chelation therapy of EDTA is that much more effective? its hard to get coverage for these things as people who need it can't afford more than the insurance buzzards charge. What is best oral? What is proper IV? On heartline website, these things are advocated, so why doesn't usual medicine model get with it? I've known a sister of the sacred heart who was a principal natural/alternative health professor for this area who had benefit. thanks J Mittelman <jmittelman wrote: - "HeartDropsFromPureSpace" <heartdropsfrompurespaceThursday, January 15, 2004 2:52 PM EDTADoes anyone have any knowledge or experience with oral EDTAchelation therapy? thanks, peace-----There are all sorts of opinions on its efficiency, but I understandthat about 5% of the average formula gets into the bloodstream foractual chelation. Guest guest
Gary Null would be a good info resource here in NYC. www.garynull.org To my knowledge, his Wellness Center provided medically supervised EDTA IV's until it closed a few years back & his current office probably makes referrals. And he may know Philly resources as well. Best of luck finding what you need... barbara - HeartDropsFromPureSpace Wednesday, January 21, 2004 6:49 PM Re: EDTA Doe anyone know of a IntraVeinous EDTA Therapy clinic in New York,NY or Philadelphia,Pa, USA?
