RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabian authorities announced Saturday medical tests have confirmed the existence of one case of madcow disease in the eastern part of the kingdom.

Daily al-Watan quoted medical sources as saying samples taken from the patient's brain tested positive to madcow disease.

"The tests were conducted at the Mayo Clinic in the United States," the sources said, adding none of the patient's family members was contaminated.
