Guest guest
As humanity strives to create a better world in which to live, it has become necessary for man and woman alike to accept responsibility for how those creations are utilized. History has provided us with the reality of this truth and few events in the past century have had such an impact on humanity as the Chernobyl nuclear accident. The ongoing creation of technologies that have the potential to assist us, as well as to disable us, warrants a closer look at history to empower humanity with a sense of responsibility to prevent its repitition. Here is one woman's observation and description of the lovely countryside and communities where laughter echoed through the streets, and prosperity reigned. It serves as a reminder of both our responsibility as creators and the speed at which those creations can destroy us. This is Pripyat. Very similar to any city on planet Earth, Pripyat is now nothing more than a ghost town. Entitled " My Chernobyl Rides " , by Elena - a Russian woman who has a passion for motorcycles and decided to ride into the " dead zone " - this pictorial is a stark reminder that we indeed must live by, with and in our creations. http://vincent.vanscherpenseel.nl/chernobyl/ Peace - Anna " People do not like to think.
