Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I must add that his books (Dr Ali) were really over my head, but helped me to see that I really did have reason to hope and there were many options. pretty much sums it up as to Dr. Ali. I heard him about 9 years ago being interviewed on the radio. That was at a time when I lived in a remote and beautiful place, was chronically ill, and for two years previously every specialist in the Austin area had shuffled me around, to no avail. Dr. Ali's talk encouraged me, and I ordered his "Canary" book, and because there was a special on his others, I also got "The Cortical Monkey and Healing,The Ghoraa and Limbic Exercise" and one other (forgotten the name of it) which I gave to an N.D. friend who really loved the book. At the same time I was digging for answers and found Dr. Ali's books, I also found Dr. William Crook's books on the yeast connection to chronic fatigue; "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by Dr. James and Phyllis Balch; "Cancer Battle Plan" by Anne Frahm; "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" by Patrick Quillin. All of these are excellent and helped dramatically -- but Dr. Ali's books had given me a "very big picture" as to what was possible. Even though I had improved greatly, when I moved to Tyler and started building a new home, the temporary apartment had heavy mold and fungus overgrowth in the heating system (we discovered when it malfunctioned), which made me very ill again, though I was not aware it was the culprit at that time. Was diagnosed with RA and/or Lupus and/or MCTD. It was the work of Dr. Thomas McPherson Brown, along with medical writer Henry Scammell, in their book "Arthritis Breakthrough" (revised version/new is "The New Arthritis Breakthrough" with has the latest NIH studies) that really turned things around. There are "stealth organisms" that are at work in most chronic illness that the vast majority of the medical community refuses to accept. Go to www.immed.org, www.rheumatic.org, and www.roadback.org if you are interested in this type illness and work. I've found by using the adjuncts I've needed from "all of the above," my quality of life has been "outstanding" for the past almost 6 years. Those 6 years have not been without real challenges, but the fatigue, pain, and oftimes immobility have been absent -- and there is a lot to be said for that.
