Guest guest
Hi. I'm Delkle. I am going to an excellent female Acupuncturist for the hormonal changes in my body. Being that I am peri-menopausal, I have a dire need to be treated with as litle help from synthetic hormones and a lot of prescription drugs. I am going through a natural stage of a womans change, and I am getting relief from using a natural approach such as acupuncture and herbals. I like the calm approach that my Dr. uses. I do not feel anything but great since my 2 last visits. This is my first time seeing an acupuncturist, and I am confident that I have made a wise choice. If any one can give me some pointers,(oops!no pun intended), I would love to hear from you. I am 44 years old. _______ Get your free @ address at

I don't have anything to add, but perhaps I could ask a question. Could I use this note to upload to the treatment testimonial pages at acupuncture.com? We can change your name and e-mail address... or not. Its up to you. Guest guest
Good day to you all!!! My name is Cheryl Campbell and I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician. My husband (veterinarian) and I are starting a veterinary hospital very soon in Vancouver, WA. I am starting to get interested in alternative medicine for not only pets but for people too. I will probably be the quietest person on the list because I like to listen to what others have to say. I am also trying to get my mother interested in going to an acupuncturist instead of a chiropractor for her problems. Thank you, Cheryl Campbell, LVT Vancouver, WA --- acupuncture-owner wrote: > Please introduce yourself so we can get to know each > other > a little better. Guest guest
Hi, I'm Dave St.Thomas. I live in Boulder, CO. Most of my experience with acupuncture comes from receiveing treatments for neck and shoulder dysfunction. I am currently seeing a chiropracter in Longmont that uses acupuncture combined with homeopathics and the activator method to treat allergies. His success rate is supposed to be very very good. I have studied ColorPuncture in Boulder and also under Peter Mandel. Although it does not use needles, it uses light introduced in specific color frequencies and specific patterns/sequences to introduce treatments. I am thereby always interested in the various systems of treatments that recognize the chi meridians. Would this be similar to NAET? (NAET doesn't use homeopathics, and I'm not sure what an activator method is...so I could be way off the mark here!) > I have studied ColorPuncture in Boulder and also under Peter Mandel. I'd love to hear more about ColorPuncture. I've got a book on it, and it looks wonderful, but I haven't " talked " to anyone who has any first hand experience with it. Anything that you could share would be interesting! Jeri kurvenal http://www.ameritech.net/users/kurvenal/kurvenal2.html

Guest guest
Hi Lauren, thanks for the welcome. I d on behalf of my wife Mary (I being the one who can handle the computer!). She has suffered from PMR for many years and as that has waned, so an arthritic condition emerged. She is troubled by a bursitis at a hip and, because of the consequently somewhat distorted gait, a tendency to swell at the right knee. Physiotherapy has been supportive but there has been much talk of the potential for acupuncture in cases like this. Mary has already had three steroid injections and, as she is still taking prednisolone at 5mg/day for the PMR, is reluctant to have any more. Rheumatologists appear to be very limited in what they can do in these circumstances. Hence my search for an acupuncture email list and the recommendation from owner-graffis-l. I am 73 BTW, and my wife is 68. We are both quite fit for our age but the relative immobility imposed by the bursitis has kept us at home instead of roaming the world in my retirement. I had planned to take Mary to the many many places I had had to visit in 35 years of air travel and we both enjoyed about 5 years ofd that before the PMR struck in 1994. We live just south of the centre of London, England with a fair sized house and a fair sized garden. At the moment we are in a fair sized mess as decorators are on site repairing the ravages of time. We wish there were decorators who could do that for us and the hope is that from this list we will form a view of what acupuncture might offer. The annual register of UK practioners published by the British Acupuncture Council is due out at the end of this month and we hope to locate someone reasonably close to home. regards danny fagandini daaf
Guest guest
Hello, so I am supposed to tell something about myself. I am a 56 year old married (still, surprisingly after 34 years) mother of two grown kids and grandmother of one. Grew up in the Netherlands, came to Canada in 1969 and to the Kootenay area of B.C. a year later. Living in this beautiful area is a large part of what my life is all about. I practice reflexology and reiki, (part time) and have had some experiences with acupuncture. Our town is blessed with an excellent TCM. I had some very heavy menstrual bleeding a few years ago during the menopausal transition. I had actually become quite anemic. My MD wanted to do scary stuff with biopsies which involved time consuming trips to larger centres. I went to see the TCM instead. She interviewed me for half an hour first, said something about the spleen being weak, and the spleen holds the blood in the channels, and proceeded to fix my problem in a few pleasant sessions. I never had the heavy bleeding again. I go back occasionally just to stay in balance. I also have a friend who does jin shin do acupressure, we trade sessions. If I go for more than 4 weeks without some form of body work I start to feel unbalanced. I hate seeing women lose important parts of their body when there is a time proven method that should at least be tried first!! It infuriates me that an ancient tradition is considered " alternative " and a very young untried paradigm is considered traditional. Guest guest
HI everyone. My name is Josie. I have just completed (school-wise anyway) Acupuncture & Herbs studies at the Academy of CHinese CUlture & Health Sciences in Oakland Ca. I am currently in the process of licensure. I took part of the California State board last week. I am also scheduled to take National exam soon. It is wonderful to see the amazing things acupuncture and herbs can do to help people. Guest guest
Hello, My name is R. Scott Malone. I am an acupuncture physician, (actually we're using Doctor of Oriental Medicine here in Florida), working in Zephyrhills, FL. I've been looking for a good forum for a while now, and I hope this is it. It would be good to trade treatment strategies with fellow practitioners, and just update each other on what we have come across that works well. Here's to your health!
