Guest guest
Hello! Here is a little article I found that some may be interested in...Enjoy! Has anyone found personal success with acupuncture for depression? Just wondering if anyone would like to share their experience. Be Well Lauren ** ON THE HEALTH FRONT Acupuncture Makes an Impression on Depression The right type of acupuncture can ease depression symptoms, according to a study led by John J.B. Allen of the University of Arizona at Tucson. The researchers looked at 38 women with self-reported depression. Some of the women received a type of acupuncture treatment specifically designed to treat the underlying disharmony in the body that Eastern medicine says is the cause of depression. Another group received a type of acupuncture designed to treat bodily pain, such as headache or backache. After eight weeks, those who had received depression- specific acupuncture reported a greater reduction of depressive symptoms. At the conclusion of the study, all the women had received the specific treatment, and 64 percent were in remission.
