As I said, I only saw her the one time, and she is currently on about 10 different western drugs to control her blood pressure, bowel movements, increase bone mass, steroids for the Chrohns and medication for her arterio-sclerosis as well. While I am fairly well-versed in western herbs, I really don't know that much about Chinese patent medicines, other than the ones I'm taking myself. However, she is convinced that if she went off the steriods she would die. I don't know how receptive she would be to taking more pills, but if you could suggest something I would be grateful. Guest guest
Symptoms are all well and fine to know to confirm what you are finding through your own assessment. Just remember, people often forget to tell you things or find focal points to emphasis. Check the ab reflexes (Japanese school) and all other TCM assesment forms. Don't forget the adrenals!!! K6/K27 or (K7 Whichever point eliminates the pain from up under the sides of the navel). I have several clients with bowel problems. Most have been re-sectioned and some are with bags or internal anal pounches. Their lack of cortisol production is directly linked to the steriods, but also the adrenals weren't strong enough to begin with to keep the inflamation down. I have one client who's reaction to steriods over a 2 month period resulted in both knees being replaced before the age of 40. Also don't forget Nagano's Immune Points. Hope that helps. I practice Acupuncture without Needles and Hypnotherapy as well. You can't remove the head from the rest of the body, your client most likely needs to learn to quiet themselves and quit thinking too much. Center them on Ab Breathing as long as you have them on the table, definitely can't hurt. My husband is one of my clients without a colon. Wish I could have gotten to him sooner, now it is a struggle to keep him well, it's a big personal commitment that your client has to realize, they have to work on themselves and not expect you to do it for them. Is yor client on any patent herbal formulas? P.Takayanagi
