Guest guest
Al Stone L.Ac.'s description of the disease is acurate. It illustrates the old saying " One Disease, Many Treatments " . Acupuncture at the highest level treats the Spirit. Any acupunture should calm the person and help him or her move towards balance physically, emotionally and yes... spiritually. A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. is treatable by acupuncture because no matter what the cause (see Al's description) the well-trained acupuncturist should be able to descern a pattern of disharmony within the person. There is an another old saying, " doesn't treat diseases, it treats people " . Best of luck L.Ac.

Could be a few things: Heart fire: kids have this a lot. I've seen lot's of kids with a red tip on their tongue. Kids that can't sit still. Kidney/Heart disharmony: something an adult has had all their life or for a long time. Look for empty heat/Yin deficiency signs. Malar flush, low back pain, dry symptoms, five center heat, red tongue, no coat, cracks in tongue body, thready rapid pulse, etc... Points: Liver heat: might be associated with someone who is too goal oriented. Perhaps too many goals, or obsessive in nature. Wiry pulse, red dots on the lateral margins of the tongue. Spleen deficiency: Spleen controls the " Yi " which is the " intellect " or conscious mind. Look for loose stools, bloating, gas, no appetite, flabby tongue, possible thick coat. Spleen Qi/Heart Blood deficiency: Spleen Qi deficiency signs with anxiety, palpitations, insomnia. Flabby pale tongue. Thready pulse, maybe weak too. Dampness: secondary to a Spleen deficiency or dietary problems. Confusion, motion sickness, foggy head, obesity. Flabby tongue with thick coating, probably white, though not necessarily. Liver/Spleen disharmony: stress induced digestive disorders, etc... Gall Bladder Qi deficiency: Timidness, inability to make decisions. Differentiate which is most likely and we can talk about points and herbs. There are probably some other likley causes, especially within the five element paradigm, but I'm more Zang Fu oriented and so the possibilities kind of reflect that. -- Al Stone L.Ac. <Allstone http://www.BeyondWellBeing.com Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
