Guest guest
Dear Amanda, regarding your mail, >I live in a training Centre in the UK (Leamington Spa), it's actually quite hard to >meet up with colleagues to talk things over, so I'll welcome the contact. >I'm primarily trained in 5 Element acupuncture (JR Worley's college, >Amanda Pickering This list has been so quiet and I have been a little afraid to contribute being a lowly Shiatsu Practitioner who I am sure you guys think are a bunch of woo woo's but, hey, we come from the same stable. The reason I started Shiatsu (3 year Diploma and now Oki-Do Yoga Teacher Training) in the first place was the result of having Acupuncture Treatment as a case study for a final year student in Leamington Spa at Professor Worsley's college where you studied. My Practitioner was Robert Ogilivie - who I simply adored - I was with him for a year at Leamington Spa and then carried on seeing him about a year and a half after he graduated. Thank goodness I was told he was one of the star pupils and his partner Wendy a very respected Acupuncturist in London - one of those people who you could never get an appointment with. These two years transformed my mind and assisted my lousy candida digestive stuff. I remember my first day there as a case study and having around 8 students around me with Professor Worsley and he took a 5 second look, made a diagnosis (which he kept a secret) and then I think it was part of the aim of the Student Practitioner to present their study and he would then discuss how it matched his at a later date. Didn't know people lived at the college though?? I remember the thing that got me into Shiatsu was just a comment by Robert in one of our sessions so it was more influential in many ways. Say hi to him from me if you see him. I was even thinking about furthering my study and coming back home for a while (at the moment living in Melbourne, Australia) and rang the college to get some info on training but never got any. It would be great if you could either give me an email address to contact them or contact me perhaps and I can give you my mailing address to pass on. There are no 5 element practitioners here in Australia and I haven't managed to find someone here I like yet - there are many asian practitioners who I am sure are spectacular but there is no client care factor, they just stick the needs in, leave you in another cubicle and go to the next and come back in 10 mins and it is all over, I miss the attention that 5 element gives you and I use this in my work as a Practitioner. I think Robert's wife is Australian and they had at one stage asked her to come out here and set up a school. Do you know of any practitioners working in yyour methods over here? Hope this is informative to others as well and sorry to possibly bore you to tears with this but I am SO excited to find someone with a connection to a place in my home. Hope you are having a great day and say Hi to that wonderful Receptionist of yours there if she has been there for some time (around 5 years ago) she might be the same one, we used to have great discussions and she was fab.
