Usually it's a 'cozy' feeling but the problem is if > I'm awake enough to notice it, Actually the problem is, is you are saying the WRONG thing to yourself when you notice that. Your tag end, " gees, I just noticed that, now I'm going to be wide awake " , is what brings you wide awake. Most people don't know it, but that warm feeling is a change in body temperature CAUSED by the body relaxing and going into an Alpha state just before falling asleep. So, when you notice that warm feeling all you need to do is tell yourself, " gosh I feel so warm and comfy, I bet I'm going to sleep right away " ... ....and then focus in on the warmth and the snuggy feelings...and relax even more...and notice how warm and relaxed you are...zzzzzzzzz > any exercises for letting down to get to sleep? Sure, several things that you can do, and they are easy and quick. 1. Before going to bed, make a list of what you need to do tomorrow. This simple writting process stops the mind from that type of worry, and it'll only take minutes. 2. Sedate Triple Warmer. 3. Do " Bringing Down the Flame " . 4. You can drink a 1/2 glass of warm milk. You can eat 1/2 a banana. Both release Tryptophan (a specific amino acid) that helps to induce sleep, naturally and easily. 5. You can take melatonin, about 3 mgs, when retiring. Melatonin will also stimulate the pineal gland, and helps to keep you young. 6. You can use self-hypnosis, being sure that it includes physical relaxation, mental relaxation, a deepening cycly, a place of mental refuge where you can give your unconscious mind proper directions... ....all of which is a simple process to do. There's a bunch more, and that's enough for now. I've had very good results with virtually everyone that used to have that problem.
