Re: gathering info about teaching Energy medicine:

that was an interesting turn of events ....since I never mentioned money...

I did a training with Gary Craig (EFT) very recently where he was talking about his desire to cultivate teachers of EFT, as opposed to private practitioners. He explained that some people learn best from the "safety-comfort" of a group,

where they can observe, listen and absorb the info. from a distance,

also learn from "Borrowing benefits",

and that it is easier for some people to access healing through a workshop (educational) rather than a "treatment/healing".... that the practitioner can rent a space and charge $15 for a workshop and reach a group of people who have $15 but not $60+ for an individual treatment.

Also people bring their friends and become healing allies, families come together, and you are cultivating community. etc. etc. etc.

He feels that its a good marketing tool to reach potential clients, and a good way for the practitioner to balance their own life/time/money/etc, to diversify, and reach clients of all income levels. Gary is encouraging his practitioners to start teaching, but it is still slow going for him....

The first time I saw Donna Eden teach was at the NE school of acupuncture, and shortly into her talk she crashed and burned, no voice, etc. They called a break, David worked on her, they brought in another kind of lamp and turned off the fluorescents over her. She came back to teach and looked really healthy and was fine for the rest of the time. It was a great testament to Energy Medicine.

When Donna was at Kripalu last week, I was extremely aware of her mortality. Several times she went off stage and David stepped in to teach while someone else worked on her. It was a large audience and I know she travels a great deal, etc. but it was clear to me that there was a lot of energy maintenance taking place. I don't know if anyone else was there who would agree or disagree, but as a person with autoimmune issues I saw the signs....

Toward the end of the workshop David spoke about their commitment to go out and teach and share the work. David said that when they first published the book, they would ask their workshop participants if anyone in the audience was seeing any kind of practitioner who was employing muscle checking or testing, and only one or two people would raise their hands.

In this group maybe 1/3 raised their hands, and he re-iterated their 2 goals of wanting health practitioners to recognize the practice of Test Before You Ingest, and hoping that everyone would develop a personal energy practice. He re-stated their desire to make a difference on the planet, by traveling and teaching, and asked us to help.

I sent the proposal to Jeff at the Energy Medicine Institute because I see 4 challenges:

1) Not many people are teaching Donna's Energy Medicine to groups either (same as EFT),

2) Some potential teachers are having trouble figuring out how to find potential receptive students

3) People who do individual sessions and people who teach have different practicalities to work with

4) Donna is not going to live forever.

I have really appreciated all the exchanges in the group about individual healing etc but when Richard or someone else writes about teaching a group class it really nourishes me. . Doc and Cris do their part by moderating groups, and my way of serving was to lend some support to potential teachers by gathering ideas from those who are already doing it and interested to share.

This was the original post, and it didn't say anything about money:

"I have a proposal in to the Energy Medicine Institute to put together some suggested strategies for those who would like to Teach Energy Medicine to others, (as opposed to those who are body workers etc and offering individualized healing sessions, who are healing but not teaching groups).

If you are interested in contributing any of your marketing ideas and strategies that would help others, ranging from what space you use to how you found a student group, curriculum you have developed or use, etc etc I would love to hear from you. "

There is still time if anyone else would like to reply, and thank you to those who already did. If anyone has concerns about my spiritual vs material intentions, please send me money, lots of it.

Take Care, Patricia

Patricia:

I sent you a note already, but I am now getting closer to teaching my first class

or study group so I know more about whether people will be attending, etc.

I will be at a small Unity Church. I have promoted it via fliers

to health food stores, church mailing list, chiropracters who use kinesiology, emails, and

spas and salons. I am getting a good response for enrollment compared to other

offerings at the church. I'm getting really excited about having results consistent

with what I thought would be the "best possible" outcome. Interestingly, I am

charging the $15 suggested in another email--this to help people learn to heal

themselves and others. I already know some attendees who

will bring varied energy experiences to bring to the group. I have been

creating a belief system that this is an idea whose time has come and that

people WANT to know this. I look forward to hearing more from you and others.

Sue

Hi Pat,

If you really want to be successful with your project then I suggest

that you really study marketing. Dan Kennedy has fantastic products

that work, Doc has marketing products, you only have to read his

posts to realise how good he is. There are many marketing

specialists out there.

What you are asking for can't be given properly through a few

posts/suggestions. You and everyone else who is interested should

go out and study the best marketing guys out there, then test it for

yourself. Practice writing copy for yourself, look at what comes

through your door, what attracts you to certain leaflets, ads etc?

Record some informercials where you would buy their product only

after watching the informaercial, study the informercial, what are

the reasons they attract you and then convinced you to buy?

Pretty soon you will start noticing good sales copy from the junk

that is out there.

Once the background work has been put in, then I think suggestions

would work.

Regards,

Michael.

So sue, send me a file of those and I can post them in the files for

others. Would that be okay with you?
