Guest guest
I was exposed to qi qong before acupuncture. And in qi qong, Mantak Chia or people like Toshihiko Yayama teach the microcosmic orbit meditation (a term coined by Chia I guess, there's an another name whose translation I don't know. The " little circulation " ??) Anyway I was at a seminar with Mantak Chia, and there was such a huge hustle-bustle " the Grand Master is in France " , that I didn't dare ask him the question which has been puzzling (shame on me). Why do qi qong experts teach that the central meridian goes downwards whereas Donna Eden and all the people well-versed in acupuncture will tell you it flows upwards? No, the answer won't be " energy test it " . Because I was at Yayama's seminar in Paris 4 years ago and he used kinesiology (finger tests, shoulder tests) to prove that the central meridian, when activated by the " microcosmic orbit meditation " runs downwards. Because I have Donna Eden's DVD, book (thank you, Doc), and there, kinesiology shows weakness in the energy tests when the central meridian runs backwards. Which in this case is supposed to flow upwards. So, what would be the right thing to do? Would there be a flow ON the body, and a flow IN the aura? Doc? People? HCP
Hi, this is a question I am most interested in as well. I haven't seen it answered yet. In my personal case I have no doubt that it feels much better and stronger to trace the meridian DOWN. I do the microcosmic orbit (MCO) and it works very well for me. It may be a case of whether your energy flow has "shifted" somehow and/or your MCO is open. If it is then maybe it is better to run it downwards, if it isn't maybe upwards, just like you said it was shown by Yayama. I also saw Donna's dvds and I highly respect her and so got puzzled...but, at least in my case, the taoist methods and anatomical framework (the dan tiens, mco, etc.) works better.
