You need 2 nights MINIMUM, and you need a STRUCTURED program that they can see an end to, ie, 6 weeks, and they get XYZ Certification. You don't ask that they pay $10 a week. What you do is what I stated about 3 weeks ago. There was a 3 part strategy. > Most paid at least a few times, some > never paid, and most had comments like > the one above or something very similar. > If they said anything at all before they > quit attending. Please take the following in the gentle way I mean it, okay?;-) If they, ANY OF THEM, had comments like the above, then it is YOUR FAULT! Somehow you missed installing the, " what's-in-it-for me " , into them in a convincing manner so that they felt THEY WOULD BENEFIT in very important ways... In ways that paying $10 bucks for a canteen of cold water would be important to a man dying of thirst! " VALUE " of anything is NEVER UNDERSTOOD by the general nerd/client from the masses unless you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY to install VALUE. THE FIRST THING Donna Eden does is always a CONVINCER of the value of what she is teaching them to do! Without that CONVINCER they will literally think they are wasting their time, and will gripe, bitch and moan about how much it costs, even if it's only $10 bucks, which is much less than the price of a movie and popcorn. I've given the formula for this earlier. > I'll let you know my response to this when > I see what some of you have to say about it. Well, since you used " past tense " ... ....you are going to where YOUR time and efforts and skills are more likely to be appreciated. The above can easily be reformated so it works to everyone's good advantage. > Have a Positively Glowing day! > Theda

I was so busy trying to get past the anger of the whole damned thing and feeling really hurt by some of the other comments that I literally did not respond in anyway for about two weeks... I'm so worried about hurting people's feelings that I tend not to say anything or take time to carefully craft a pretty neutral response. > Also, notice the presuppositions in the above situation... > > Group, give me some of the presuppositions so we can help her learn > a bit from this. > > > This comes from someone in a group > > I was facilitating for Women and > > Issues that Women face. Ah, structure.. I tried that and they said they really didn't like that.. so I tried not to be so structured.. and they didn't like that.. Yes I know.. quit trying to please everyone 'cause you'll never please anyone... but I really wanted this group to be productive and safe place for everyone that joined - it was an open group (which made it harder to stay focused - brand new group trying to grow to a nice comfortable size) as I had to " re-teach " NeiGong/EFT to each new person... > Back to Pavlov, Stimulus, response and reward... > > > We were > > using EFT and Donna Eden's > > Energy Medicine to work through various > > issues. Agreed.. just haven't YET figured out how to change that and get into a mode of expressing " what's in in for me " for other people... I know what EM and other modalities has done for me... but some of it seems so far fetched that its beyond most people's acceptance level. And I know that a lot of it has to do with a lack of confidence in my own abilities. I'm pretty much at this point self-taught - I have attended a couple of EFT seminars, a NeiGong seminar and will be attending Donna Eden's seminar in St. Louis. I am reading Energy Medicine for the third time and have begun the second reading of David Feinstein's EPI along with a bunch of other reading and studying... hhrmm.. way too much information I'm guessing.. so I'll stop here > In ways that paying $10 bucks for a canteen of cold water would be > important to a man dying of thirst! > > " VALUE " of anything is NEVER UNDERSTOOD by the general nerd/client > from the masses unless you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY to install VALUE. And that's one of the MANY reasons that I have joined this list as I feel that I can learn a lot about what my responsibilities are for installing value to the " client " . > THE FIRST THING Donna Eden does is always a CONVINCER of the value > of what she is teaching them to do! > > Without that CONVINCER they will literally think they are wasting > their time, and will gripe, bitch and moan about how much it costs, even if it's only $10 bucks, which is much less than the price of a movie and popcorn. Yeah.. it's the convincer part that I'm struggling with.. I'm reading back posts and absorbing - though the lightbulb is only dimly on right now.. I know that eventually everything will " click " for me and I'll feel like a moron... LOL.. that it took so long - I tend to be rather impatient with myself and want all the knowledge yesterday > I've given the formula for this earlier. > > > I'll let you know my response to this when > > I see what some of you have to say about it. > > Well, since you used " past tense " ... > > ...you are going to where YOUR time and efforts and skills are more likely to be appreciated. Yes, I'm backing off and creating something that is stronger and meets specific criteria - and not worry about what others think it should be... as a friend told me " quit letting the inmates run the asulym " .. > The above can easily be reformated so it works to everyone's good > advantage. > > Thank you Doc for tempering your response to this and considering that my feelings tend to get way too emotional... it's appreciated..
