Ifyou pay any attention to what he teaches in February you might get an inkling of how much he knows and how amazing that he is willing to teach it to you. He could be that master on the mountain, or a charletan, he doesn't have to be on this group or give seminars. I'd like to think it was just a mistake on your part, you really ment the last paragragh and the rest of this post was just you mixing up verb tenses. Guest guest
Hi Doc, Kalimagic, and all; Hm, I got something different when I first read her post but maybe I was being to easy. I'm still not sure. Doc did say a lot of negative self talk in his original post. For me, I thought he was revealing his internal 'away from' motivational strategies for the groups' benefit. The tone I took from Barbara's reply was one of accepting his words at face value and trying to say something nice that was true to 'help' him with his self-image while agreeing with him to establish rapport. Maybe I was wrong and its intent was a covert attack and I missed it and then again maybe I was right and Barbara's own filters of interpretation were revealed by the way she replied. In any case, 1. I appreciate the loyalty that Kali showed here (Loyalty is very high in my hierarchy of values) 2. Everything Kali said about Doc's skills was and is true. 3. Doc is a very strong wood element with a strong secondary element of metal. Kind of like an Oak tree...very solid. 4. The real question now to remote view for the rest of us is Barbara's intent. 5. And I want to ask Barbara to please use this as a learning experience. 6. Barbara, please reply in the learning mode and avoid going into self-defense mode as it would be far more beneficial for the group and yourself. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!!! Walter Hurlbut PS as to all the PC crap about " Christmas " or " happy holidays " ...I don't personally have a problem with celebrating the life of an extraordinary man that changed the course of civilization for literally thousands of years whether you believe he was 'god' or not. Guest guest
Hi Walter, Kali, Doc, and all, This is funny because I've heard Doc refer to himself as a metal/wood and have seen it in print (see post #16420 on MMES). The impressions I've had of him since meeting him and training with him is that he's metal/wood. On the otherhand I haven't known Doc any where near as long as Kali or Walter have though, so that could be a factor as well as my own filters. Only Doc knows for sure. As for his skills, I've witnessed him do some amazing things that seem to defy some of the " natural laws " I once thought I understood very well, scientific metal type that I am. I'd be happy if I could do a tiny fraction of what Doc can at his skill level, which to me seems unattainable at this point in my training. I also didn't read Barbara Ann's post as an attack, just her different perspective and an attempt to explain Doc's post about getting in shape, even though I didn't think he needed it. Which is why his post originally caught my attention. I also don't think Doc's original post was necessarily addressing himself but possibly was a message aimed at a much a higher level. Go back and read message #4466 on HE. If you chunk up, you might see that it has more to do with first recognizing something needs to be improved in ourselves and then using all those neat skills we learn here to improve whatever that might be for us. Then again maybe its my mindread ;-). Guest guest
Hi again, Ok, maybe what I said about Doc's post was an overgeneralization. Three was a lot of instructional information there. His post was full of different teaching tools and this could go on at length in a detail-oriented description. The bottom line from my perspective was he wrote it to be instructional. There was a lot there. And metal/Wood or Wood/Metal... well everyone at times is any one of the elements you want to pick at some time or another. I wrote what I see him as most of the time. Funny thing is, he is very different in different contexts. Perhaps, at the time he wrote that metal was dominant. The only person who can know for sure what state he was in then is him. Just as Barbara's post came from a place only she may know for sure. The rest of us can calibrate and match it. How well depends on the tool(s) used and the skill of the user. Anyone tried using any of the tools Doc teaches for this task yet? What did you get? Have fun, Walter Hurlbut On Behalf Of darthon4 Tuesday, December 27, 2005 3:56 PM Re: OLD AGE and being Pigs is very different Hi Walter, Kali, Doc, and all, This is funny because I've heard Doc refer to himself as a metal/wood and have seen it in print (see post #16420 on MMES).
