Well, since there are 4 BIG divisions of Chi Kung, I'm sort of curious to which one you are refering to? 1. Taoist Chi Kung? 2. Philosophical Chi Kung? 3. Warrior Chi Kung? 4. Medical Chi Kung? Infering from your last question, I'm assuming it's Medican Chi Kung. The BEST book on Medical Chi Kung is by Jerry Alan Johnson, " Chinese Medical QiGong Therapy: A Comprehensive Clinical Text " . It is recent, published in 2000, and Jerry is an old friend of mine from Colorado Springs, CO, that actually went to China and studied at the Hai Dian Medical Qigong College in Beijing for his doctorate. It is one of the 4 foremost Qigong colleges in China. Hell, when I knew Jerry, back in the early 80's I just thought he was a whimpy nerd. Now I study all that he puts out. Strange how that works. GOATs can't study at the Hai Dian Medical Qigong College in Beijing!
Guest guest
Hi JF Just a few pointers: Try it for yourself. What happens when you raise your arm above your head? The other arm gets warmer/more blood. What is happening to your chest circulation, and your intercostal breathing muscles? You are moving and reorganizing things in your body! OK, thats just a crude physical effect. Chi Kung also works very powerfully with your body energy awareness. Awareness can help you prevent all kinds of trouble, and can speed up recovery of any other trouble. As I am sure Doc can attest, it also works powerfully for sports and martial arts abilities and skills. Even the imagery it invokes is good for the braincells and mental skills. The spiritual side is open for all willing to broaden their horizons and invigorate a sense of connectivity and wonder of the universe. Chi Kung is good healthy stuff for anyone, especially those willing to understand it (and themselves) deeply.
