Guest guest
Hi Richard, Your experience with the dog brought to mind a neat experience I had while I was sitting in my favorite spot in the house at level one night. I heard coyotes howling nearby on the mountain side. So I thought cool, I wonder what the coyotes are up to tonight? So I did something I hadn't done before and I mentally projected to where the coyotes were. They were quiet now....and I wonder now if they knew I was there? I saw several of them, all looking in the same direction down the valley...so I decided to mentally project into one of them to check out the view. My eyesight was perfect...beyond perfect. I could see crisp clear details of everything even though it was nighttime. I saw the lights of houses way off in the distance several miles down the canyon. The black sky was dotted with crisp bright stars touching the top edge of the other side of the canyon. I felt the cool air on my nose, the soft ground beneath my feet, the strong earthy smell of sage in the air. It was quiet, the air was still, I heard the sound of my heart beating, my soft breathing.... or was it the coyote's heart and breathing I heard?.... It was a beautiful night to be outside.... I stayed there for a few minutes taking in the view until the coyotes headed quietly and swiftly to the east. I moved along in the one I was with for a short distance and and felt what it was like to be a coyote, then mentally projected back to my favorite spot in the house again. As the coyote and I moved together it reminded me of what happens when I ride one of my horses and we begin moving along so nicely as I get into that automatic " soft-eyes " relaxed state that my dressage trainer taught me to do so many years ago.....when I can't tell where the horse ends and my body begins, and I take in everything around me as we move as a unit, and the horse knows exactly where I want to go, knows my next move with barely if ever a perceptible physical cue from me... Hmm... I wonder if this sort of thing works for training dogs too.... Have fun with your new pup ;-) Lori , Awake101 <richardc@w...> wrote: > > Hey All, > > Funny thing happened this week. Guest guest
Why is it has all these bouncing glitches? Thanks for your experience. I'll give that a shot, next time the3 pup is in a scared mood, to step into him and check out what's next to train him in.
