Guest guest
Hi All, I had another learning experience Friday night. Remember ... if you don't find six " Beagles " a day, you're not paying attention. I was hanging out at one of the local " secret " taverns having a sandwich and a Pibb Extra (it's like Mr. Pibb, but more) and chatting with friends. Normally I can " Name that Tune " in about two notes. Yesterday Amanda was listening to " 80's Alternative " on and a song came on I hadn't heard in about 20 years ... .... it started wit guitar chords and humming ... .... and I said, " The Jesus and Mary Chain, 'Just Like Honey' " Direct hit. But Friday night, for a couple hours straight, I didn't recognize ANY SONG at first. I mean I didn't even recognize " Stairway to Heaven " right away. It was that bad. Finally, after not recognizing a song I'd actually been listening to within the last couple of weeks ... I said to my self ... " OK ... What's going on? " I immediately got a picture of Milton Erickson hypnotizing Aldous Huxley when they were talking to a much younger Huxley who was standing across a ravine from them. That makes sense, right? So I knew what to do. I did the " bring back " ... .... and then I could recognize all the songs the rest of the evening. On the drive home I could even " Name That Tune " for 1950's Doo Wop song I never listened to much. So ... " What happened? " You know when Doo Wop was popular and you know what I was doing Friday night just before I went out to eat because I posted " 'The Bible of Huna' and Early Belief Patterns " on this list right before we left the house. I mean I didn't even recognize the people we were hanging out with at first sight. So what happened? And " Why is this important?
