Pregancy testing

Someone just told me of a test that one can do to find out if a mare is

pregnant.

You take a nail and put a piece of horse hair or string and tie it to the

nail and then put it over the point of the horses hips. If she is pregnant

it will swing or make circles and if not it will stand still.

I am sure most of you know something of this sort but I and most people that

have horses have not heard of this.

Is it something like energy testing?

Can someone tell me more on this as the guy didn't know much than it works.

But didn't know how and how early can one be tested for this.

Someone else said that there is a test for people too!!
