Guest guest
Hi Doc. Hi Group. I hope my problem is not too complex or difficult to answer. I really need some advice. Something strange is happening. Some weeks ago I met a girl (a really good friend of a good friend of mine). Later he told me about her suffering from Borderline Syndrome. That she had a hard time and if I couldn't remotely send her an energy package (Reiki)? So I did. Wow. Never felt such a strong energy flow before, it felt like her literally sucking like mad. About 10 minutes later he wrote (icq) that she had JUST decided to try another therapy. Wow. But everytime he asks " couldn't that energy psychology stuff help her? " I feel swamped. I'd LOVE to help her. But I don't know how. Where to start. That was just the beginning of the story. Last week I was visited by a friend I haven't seen for a long time. He needed someone to talk to and it seemed like he was seeking help. His sister had severe problems the last months and years up to attempted suicides (I don't know about her motives, maybe it was " just " cutting herself). She was also diagnosed with " very probably Borderline Syndrome " but she refused to go into therapy. And now she's pregnant.... (very likely mostly to truss her 20-years-older-boyfriend to her because she has such big loss anxieties (?) and can't stand to be alone). I didn't think about helping her TOOOOO much because she doesn't show ANY discernment or willingness to accept help. And yesterday at about 3 am one of those strange fortuities happened that changed the situation in a few minutes into being in a club alone with a girl I hardly knew the name of and that I had seen maybe about 10 times and had hardly really talked to before. When we met she wanted to get back into the club unlike her friends that went home because she had a crush on some guy and didn't dare to approach him and my mood was too good to go home with the people I was out with. So I tried to help her in approaching that guy. I slowly realized how low her self-confidence REALLY is more and more. But first I thought that's what all this was about. Then I saw all the cuts on her arm. Later we walked home and stayed up and talked and talked and talked until 8 am. She told me that in a therapy she had been diagnosed with " 90% borderline " and when she left it was " 30% borderline " and how ridiculous those percentage data were and how easy it was to fool the therapists because the diagnose was mostly based on a written test. We had talked a lot about hypnosis (she wanted to devalue " that stuff " because those psychologists were stupid idiots to her and she threw EVERYTHING concerning psychology [although they didn't even use hypnosis and hypnosis is MUCH MUCH OLDER than our modern " psychology " ] in one drawer). I was able to raise her interest but now I am unsure. It was meant to help her improving her self-confidence. Not for treating a psychosis. Sorry for the long story, I just had to talk about it. For 23 years I heard the word " borderline " about 5 times and then 3 cases of it are pushed onto me in 4 weeks. So my question is: I know I am not allowed to try to " cure " psychoses. But what can I do to help these girls lead their lives? (maybe to a point where it never shows up again? ) How can/should I use Energy Medicine? How can/should I use Reiki? How can/should I use Energy Psychology? How can/should I use Hypnosis? Are there specific chakras I should focus on? I've had some pretty staggering successes (at least for me) with working on people and their auras etc in level. Any tips on that? I suppose I should listen to Milton Erickson and focus more on the future instead of the past and not care about what caused it (all 3 of them seemed to have some REAL hard things going on in their childhood) right? THANK YOU all for ANYTHING you can give me. I REALLY need some advice on this. Michael
Guest guest
Hi Michael, I found a lot of interesting presuppositions embedded in there. I will only ask you about one sentence full of them. You said, " I know I am not allowed to try to " cure " psychoses. " Not allowed by whom? And why would it be try? And why cure and not teach her how to fix herself covertly/overtly or even by accident of just doing a drill? From your very first sentence you were installing negative presuppositions and setting yourself up for failure. Why? You know better and have demonstrated it. I want to see you go back to doing that and stay in the success state you already have preinstalled. First of all, think carefully about the law of allowing. There's a post back in the archives where Doc describes meeting a woman in Wal-Mart who is sick. He mentions energy medicine, but she dismisses it and he happily goes on his way. If the women you describe are as disturbed as you say, I would suggest that it is going to require a high degree of skill and experience to help them. Probably a professional level of skill in fact. If you don't have that level of skill, these women are not your responsibility, end of story. All you can do is encourage them to read up about EFT and related material and seek out other appropriate resources. Second, it looks like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EFT can be useful. If EFT works, then the Inner Demon Destroyer will be good too. So will any other method that works to resolve and relieve emotional disturbance. Hypnosis, timeline, that kind of stuff. But again, you need a good deal of skill and experience to work effectively with very disturbed people. Look after yourself and your well-being first. Examine your motives for wanting to fix other people and see if there's anything you need to take care of. Other may make other suggestions, I hope they do. My advice is to err on the side of caution before committing to working with any of these women. You can always just mention resources like emofree.com and point the direction of a competent energy-psychology or related practitioner in your area. Perhaps if you mention where you are, someone on this list can come forward. Let me know what you think. All the best, Phil
Guest guest
Yes - Borderline schizophrenic can be a 'catch-all' diagnosis. It can be as simple as a very sensitive person (fairly benign) who cannot process any stress -- to a very destructive personality. (I know a few people who have this diagnosis - including one sister) So the question is : how do they live their lives now and how do they interact with their world?
