Energy surges and shaking

Dear Group:

 

It's a pleasure to read of your experiences and discoveries.

 

I've been practicing chi kung meditation for several years now and

am doing the DE drills almost daily with some amazing outcomes. Many

that are unexpected.

 

For the past couple of years, I've noticed that my body shakes with

surges of energy. Sometimes it rocks, other times it shakes with

wild abandon. Fighting it just causes tension. Like restless leg

syndrome, I suppose. It happens when I relax or when the rhythem of

music moves me.

 

In my studies and travels, I've met a man who also shakes (Brad

Keeney PhD). He studies indigenous healing traditions the world

over and has documented his field work in a healing profile book

series (www.ringingrocks.org). No financial interest here.

 

I met him recently and saw him place his hands on a persons heart

and back. He shook a bit and the participant started to shake

uncontrollably. He was feeling quite blissful and ecstatic.

 

The Bushman of Africa, for example, have used shaking and dance to

heal illness, find game for hunting, etc., and experience much of

the phenomena that is discussed on this list.

 

I'm curious to know if there are other " shakers " on this list as it

seems to be a cross cultural thing over the ages.

 

Anecdotally, the energy drills, the shaking, and surrendering to the

energy it brings to my life has solved a lot of my body's tension, I

feel much younger than I am (41), feel radiant energy and joy, and,

like Lori, I have little need for sleep. It (the energy) seems to

be teaching me some interesting things.

 

I am anxious to attend Docs seminar.

This is common reaction observed in acupuncture.

When the chi begins to flow through a blockage it often follows a sequence

of aching, feeling heavy, tingling, to twitching or shaking. Whether it's

Chi, or the " Spirit moving you " , just go with it.

There is a religion built around this phenomena, The Society of Friends,

commonly known as the Quakers.
