Guest guest
Yep. I know what you are talking about. I've 3 libraries in my home, and one at work, stacked all the way to the ceiling. My barn is full of boxed books. My garage is sealed off and full of boxed books. And they are only the ones I've decided to keep for " just in case " . One resource is never good enough for me. If there are 104, then I got to get all 104 of them. Even if someone tells me a book is non-valid, I still need to get it and verify it for myself. They all get a quick read, or a quick skim and dip with photo reading. Then there are the ones that I read periodically, getting more from them each time. >Mike Uggen <mike wrote: >Why should I be the only one to periodically trash a credit card? > >Well shit, > >I just spent a wad of money on more books. > >Thank you Mike. > > -------------
Guest guest
Doc, Did you mean " trigger point therapy " in the sense that the location of pain does not always correspond to the location of the problem? Or are multiple credit card payments just a " trigger point " for you? Greg R. P.S. ... or was that cold hard cash? healingenergies- essentialskills , " kahunamaker " <kahunamaker wrote: > > Yep. > > I know what you are talking about. > > I've 3 libraries in my home, and one at work, stacked all the way to > the ceiling. > > My barn is full of boxed books. First, I don't know what the HELL is going on with ... ....because my last 12 posts have NOT made it, and now I've got to do them again... Donna uses Trigger Point therapy when it is needed, but when it is NOT needed, she doesn't. I used it on my neck after an automobile accident. Now I don't because I don't need it for neck pain. But daily I do the head and neck exercises because... ....they help the thyroid gland... ....the neck chakra... ....the meridians that all go through the neck... ....your seeing abilities... ....your thinking abilities. Guest guest
Sent this last night at 6 pm, and thought I should send it again since it didn't appear and Doc said that a bunch of his messages didn't get posted. Hello I've only posted to the group a few times with a question (and got great replies, esp. from Doc – thanks again) so I wanted to help with this one because I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist and I specialize in Trigger Point Therapy. I've never seen the FENIX web site before today, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the product. I use tennis balls in the way he's showing the use of the FENIX. (You can get 3 or more tennis balls at the dollar store for $1) If you want to learn about trigger points, I would highly suggest getting " The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook, Your Self Treatment Guide for Pain Relief " By Clair Davies - $12.97 at amazon.com. This is the best book I've seen for giving a very concise overview of Trigger Points – what they are, what symptoms they cause and how to treat them. There are case studies for everything from accident trauma, joint pain, arthritis, tennis elbow and more. He explains his method and goes through the areas of the body showing where the trigger points are commonly found, and the pain pattern. This book is based on the research and work done by Dr. Janet Travell. She mapped out the trigger points in the body. She and Dr. David Simons authored the definitive book on Trigger Point Therapy – " Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual. " It's a 2-volume set. It's not a fast read – it's a medical book and the set is expensive (usually $200) So what are trigger points? Trigger Points are not acupressure points. A trigger point is a small contraction knot in the muscle. It affects the muscle by keeping it both tight and weak, restricting circulation in the area, which prevents the area from getting adequate oxygen and nutrients and metabolic wastes accumulate. Often the pain is referred – meaning it is felt away from the trigger point that is causing it. For example, TPs in the neck muscles may cause headaches. If you have trigger points, you need to get specific trigger point therapy to alleviate them. Other types of bodywork are valid, but not usually helpful for treating TPs and may even make the condition worse by causing more inflammation. Stretching can also make the pain worse by further irritating the trigger points. If you are not able to get to a TP therapist, (a specialist, not someone who does 10 different types of bodywork) this book should help you.
