Guest guest
There was a program on PBS early this morning called Brain Fitness Program. So much new knowledge about how the brain DOES change over our lifetimes is being discovered now that scientists can test for what is actually happening inside the brain as it is doing different tasks. They are also using physical training to help physically and/or mentally injured persons to improve practical functioning in life. It is a fascinating program so if it airs in your area, I highly encourage you to watch it. Peter Coyote from ET fame narrates. Watching what they had to say inspired me to look on the web for similar products. An Israeli company called www.Cognifit.com has some PC only (no MAC) computer programs to increase cognitive skills such as observation, memory and attention. One of their programs is also focused on improving driving skills. Some trucking companies are using that to assist their drivers in being better, safer drivers. Another program has helped new drivers to pass the driving test itself. The web site says there was a 16% improvement in passing the test the first time it was taken. One example of the tests was to watch a ball moving inside a square. If the ball was heading for the side where the color was different from the ball, the place it was heading is to be clicked with the mouse and it will change color to match the ball. The real test came when there were two squares with two balls moving around. I did better on the left side than the right on that one. It might not come as a surprise that I am primarily left handed. I forgot whether to click the ball or side of the square so I know I missed some until I changed what I was doing. If what you are doing isn't working, do something different!!!! NLP at it's finest. The download is $129 and a CD can also be ordered at a slightly higher cost. One license per person is required since the program configures itself to match what YOU need to focus on improving. There are demos available you can experience to get an idea of whether you are interested for yourself, a spouse or for a parent. Play with it for yourself. This is not the only program of this type available. Do your own web search it this is not your cup of tea. They seemed to give away most of their secrets during the show, though. I would be interested to know what else was in the program for $129.
