Guest guest
There is nothing wrong with giving away a base amount ofmaterial for free, but to get right into the absolute nitty gritty of something make the person prove that it is worthy to bestow upon them. That doesn't mean paid memberships on a site, but by them asking intelligent questions and demonstrating in their posts that they know the base material. Hopefully I can disagree STRONGLY! I've noticed through 59 years in the martial arts, and 35 of those years " teaching for my living " that those that don't pay, don't value. PERIOD! Now, how they pay can be flexible. One of my older gentlemen came in Friday and asked how much he owed. I told him, " Nothing. You've already paid your dues by the 45 years you've put into the martial arts, giving of your soul, of your sweat and your knowledge " . His anwer, " Doc that ain't fair to you. I know I owe you for over a years worth of training, and I want to give you something for it " . He then pulls out a bar of silver bullion and hands it across the table to me. He says, " I'll get some money soon, and then, can I get it back? " The guy values value. The man has ethics. The man has integrity. I love people like that. Remember that guy called Ed Parker? He also took much " trade " for his lessons. I also know that Mr. Parker did give a few people lessons for free, but NOT because of alturism but for other reasons. He got " paid " in other ways than money. I also have a paid membership site ($49.95/mo-$69.95/mo), and EVERYONE on that paid membership site is dedicated to the lessons being taught them. And they are getting more than 10 X's the cost they are paying in free benefits. I love giving away free benefits to clients that are doing their part. It's like, " I'm paying the money so I better study this so I won't waste the money " . Just my 2 cents worth.
Guest guest
I was at the local city waste disposal site and there was a sign there that said " Free Lunch - all you can eat " But I still had to pay the $2.00 to get in! :)Troy > > It's like, " I'm paying the money so I better study this so I won't > waste the money " . > > Just my 2 cents worth. > > >
