Guest guest
I just read the free e-manual on EFT---it appears to be affirmations combined with acupressure points---seems rather silly, on first impression--anybody use this?
Guest guest
The results speak for themselves. The best recommendation I can give is let go of your assumptions, use the techniques, and (as impartially as possible) calibrate your results. Personally I have used EFT to overcome fear of public speaking. I also use it in conjunction with some Energy Medicine techniques daily to improve my overall health and mental state. I’ve also walked a friend through the EFT process over the phone. She had a long standing fear of flying. Using the techniques, she has nearly eliminated the fear. It went from being a near panic attack to only mild discomfort. The EFT site is filled with stories far more dramatic than this. We can talk about results all day. Until you experience them for yourself, though, it will just be talk. So, because of my own narrow-mindedness and comparing apples to dog turds, I did NOT start with energy psychology back then. But I finally got past my own narrow mindedness and did the damn drills to get the experience for myself. If you think EFT (or any of the energy psychologies) are silly, that just tells me you are using a very incorrect reference point. Have fun doing the drills and getting the skills. The meridian therapies address an area that most other healing modalities do NOT address. They are a very neat and effective addition to any healing or mental art. John M. Guest guest
Pick an issue and try it. It's free and no strings attached. Besides being probably the most prominent energy psychology intervention (there are quite a few, it is currently being used and studied as a go to treament for Iraqi vets. I know of at least one base using it. It has been used as an intervention for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from 9-11, Katrina, to Kosovo. Gary has an entire DVD dedicated to working with Vets. I also know that it is used with senior executives in Fortune 100 companies. There is a large amount of research available and lots more on the way. That combined with either trying to do it yourself or with somebody else should remove any question from your mind about it's efficacy. Also, it's just not affirmations. That is usually the last thing a person does. Wording varies from person to person but it is designed to access the unconscious and release energy of the trauma or energy a person is working on. Actually, you could say it looks a little silly because it does. However, the results are no joke applied correctly. Guest guest
Hi Clayton, You are right and it is SO silly on first impression that it will probably make you laugh even more on second impression and beyond...and that you may enjoy laughing and feeling better? And it's not as if you should just start using it and practicing and prove to yourself just how useless it is And no, as a professional hypnotist I do not teach EFT and variations to just about every one of my clients so that they can feel some control after and in between sessions. It is NOT totally excellent in helping people to get over obstacles to change. I also do not teach it to them while demonstrating it because it can help them lessen anxiety, skepticisms, etc. and deal with "psychological reversal" which is a fancy term for "mixed feelings" I also do not find myself using it all the time to supplement what I do with hypnosis, nlp, energy medicine and shamanic techniques. * One of the things I love best about Doc is that he also loves to cross train and learn the best that there is and then he combines them with other skills that he is a master in and so he creates very powerful and unique techniques that really help you to GET THINGS DONE! In your case I would not start tomorrow but right NOW with : "Even though I feel EFT seems rather silly, I will test it and I appreciate myself more and more..." Of course, Doc has an even more advanced version that he created that I have not gotten yet and am VERY CURIOUS... about his "Inner Demon Destroyer" Play with eft for a few weeks and report back or you can just keep the benefits to yourself, although those around you will most likely notice an improvement in you Michael Twomey - Clayton OClaerach 7/1/2008 3:46:31 PM what do you think of Emotional Freedom Technique I just read the free e-manual on EFT---it appears to be affirmations combined with acupressure points---seems rather silly, on first impression--anybody use this?
