Would your doctor even recognize scurvy today? I doubt it.

I went to my doctor this morning. I found out he does not know the

difference between an amino acid and a vitamin, for one, even though

both have " essential " elements we need because our bodies do not

produce those.

The bodies of some mammals can create Vitamin C. Human beings cannot so

that makes it truly an essential vitamin that we must get from food or

supplements.

He also sounded like he just does not want to spend the effort to learn

about nutrients and supplements. My impression was a touch of laziness.

I could be wrong there, though. It would probably also necessitate

taking longer with patients so he could go over that information in his

office.

I would bet that around 90% of the medical profession today would not

recognize a person who had scurvy or most other nutritional

deficiencies. After all, they are just vitamins, right?

Good point. And would your doctor recognize rickets? They are making a

comeback with all the vitamin D deficiency around.

Many blessings,
