Guest guest
Can anybody spot something I am missing? I am sure you have all had times when EFT appears not to be working. I say appear as I believe EFT works all the time. I believe when EFT is not working there is something you have missed. I had a client come to me with a classic driving phobia. It started off with motorway driving and has slowly lead to driving down hills, going around bends, driving fast and leading towards problems with normal town driving. Although my client has this phobia he does still drive. He is confronting his fear all the time. The client is perfectly fine as a passenger. What I describe has been over 3 sessions. I started off by asking what was going on in his life around the time of the phobia starting. He could not think of anything special. I also asked about his past history in general if he had ever been in an accident, ever saw a car crash etc. Again he could not think of anything relevant. I then moved onto the phobia itself starting off with global statements'. This was not producing any results. So we then got more precise with the wording and split the phobia up into its individual parts. Again this was getting us nowhere. As you will know when things appear not to be moving there is normally a limiting belief or some sort of writings on the walls causing a blockage. I backed tracked a bit and checked things like if the client thought it was safe to get rid of the phobia, if he deserves, any possible reasons why having the phobia would be good, if the phobia is a mask for something else etc. I also done some muscle testing. Once we had done that we then tapped on how the client felt about himself and the phobia so things like shame, guilt, anger etc I then moved back to the phobia itself. Now for every part of the phobia such as motorway driving, driving around bends etc the client would describe it as fear and panic. His description never changed for any part of the phobia. Although we had covered all the possible secondary gains and got the clients feelings about himself and the phobia out of the way the phobia will still not budge. We have tried being more specific, splitting the phobia up into the individual parts, used the choices technique, body sensations he feels etc I have had difficult phobia before but this the most difficult I have ever had. Can anybody think of anything I may have missed or suggest something new to try?
Guest guest
I'd investigate two aspects (which you maybe already did, though I'm not sure from what you wrote). 1) secondary gain, what good will the phobia bring me ? someone will take care of me (I can't drive, sorry, you drive me) (and actually I'm sick and tired of driving you people around) it will improve my health (driving is bad for me, high mileage coupled with wrong posture...) I will save lives (gee I'm such a bad driver I'm bound to have an accident and kill someone) I need the money for something else (what with petrol costing more and more...) etc. 2) specific fears, what will happen in case of an accident ? (death, maiming, etc.) then use eft on those fears. (I'd avoid going into that as much as possible, though, avoid installing things) Also, do you know NLP ? and more specifically Richard Bandler's phobia cure(s) ? If yes, I'd give that a go. By the way, does he have that driving phobia with any/all cars or just one ? Francois eftisgreat a écrit : Can anybody spot something I am missing? Guest guest
Check and see if he has reversed polarity. He could have " frozen energies " - check the handout bank for article on frozen energies. If he is confronting his fear all the time, he may be in a constant state of aroused triple warmer. I had a fear of driving over bridges -- which I've taken care of with EFT/EP I also had reversed polarity. (no longer) But, I noticed that when I drive for long periods of time, I get disconnected from the earth, and my polarity can reverse again. When I'm reversed, I get that awful vertigo feeling ..... So, try those tests if you know them. Helen On Jul 15, 2008, at 11:27 PM, eftisgreat wrote: > Can anybody spot something I am missing?
