I'm curious Maarten to 'why' you think it is relevant? To me the only part of the article that actually makes sense and is the only part I agree with 'a little bit' as far as EP goes. " When it comes to how we think, " negative " is not the only alternative to " positive. " As the case histories of depressives show, consistent pessimism can be just as baseless and deluded as its opposite. The alternative to both is realism - seeing the risks, having the courage to bear bad news and being prepared for famine as well as plenty. We ought to give it a try. " The above smacks much more of accessing negative possibilities than it does of positive possibilities. Positive possibilities and negative posibilities both need to be addressed, just as a pot-hole in the road needs to be aware of first, and then a new direction/path needs to be installed so the pot-hole is avoided, fixed, or bounced over. Dan Kennedy called it the " The power of POSITIVE prepareness " . Which is closely aligned with " future pacing " a skill or an intervention so that you are pre-planning with particular tactics what will occur in the future in a given context. It is being aware of what you are doing and the probable consequences of such actions in a way that you have choice before it happens. The 'Secret' lovers and others of the C. Ponder mentality tend to delete any negative consequences and feel that when they 'hit the pot- hole', it's God's fault, giving them a 'learning'. Deletion is neither negative thinking or positive thinking but a simple lack of awareness that people can be trained to be 'better than'. So that's when the 'power of positive prepareness' comes in. Being aware and proactive. Which is a very important state of mind for working with a client on any of his/her issues. That's my 2 cents. Best to you. John M.
