Guest guest
Jeanne amd others, So are you telling you do not believe I have a legitimate disease that limits me physically? That my myasthenia is not real? Now if this Mr X slammed people I am not for that but he asked that ypu understand my physical limitations. I am hoping that I can get the stronger treatments at Mayo Clinic like IVIG but in the meantime I was looking forward to learning more here as I wait for a better doc to come one board. I have poored though the book and watched the DVD and found one short form that allows for not lifting arms above head. I need more of these. It is physically impossible for me to do anything that requires arms above shoulders. I do not understand how this is a woe is me thing/dependent or other such labels. Honestly I am quite surprised at labels here being assigned so quickly.....thought this was a healing place? Guest guest
Kathylee, I posted on alternatives that you could do - including visualizing and/or watching someone else doing the exercise. Please focus on what you can use versus distractions, including continued claims of helplessness. Many blessings, Michelle Jeanne amd others, So are you telling you do not believe I have a legitimate disease that limits me physically? That my myasthenia is not real? Guest guest
Kathy, dear heart, please point out where I said anything about not believing you have a legitimate disease. I said nothing of the sort. If you can't lift your arms over your head, lift them as far as you can this time. Next time lift them a little (even a microscopic length) further. And so on. INNOVATE. Push yourself. Don't wait for someone to " fix " you. Do your part. Last winter, I fell and tore a rotator cuff when I landed. It was most difficult to move my arm at all, forget about " over my head. " I could have given up right then and there, had the prescribed surgery and then spent the next year and a half " recovering " --meaning that I might not have had the range of movement I had before the fall. OR I could find a way to get things working again without the surgery using PT and EM. I chose the latter. Some of the Eden work was beyond my range of motion. Some of the PT was incredibly painful. I innovated. It worked. I have full range of movement now. I can do ANYTHING, including pulling my arms behind me, clasping my hands, and pulling both of them over my head as I bend down (a yoga posture). I was motivated. I wasn't complaining that I " couldn't " do this or that. This isn't patting myself on the back, it's letting you know that if you are motivated, if you can do almost anything. Henry Ford once said, " If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right. " Think about it, then go back and count the number of times you've stated that you " can't " or something is " impossible " in your posts--or in your daily conversations with others. Sympathy sucks. Full range of motion rocks. Which would you rather have? Call me an optimist, but I think you can do it--if you want to. Guest guest
I also recommend Seth/Jane Robert's book on " The Way Toward Health " . Many mentions of visualization and attitude exercises. Some of the exercises and their titles are listed at: http://www.newworldview.com/library/Helfrich_P_Seth_Jane_Exercises.html#100 Imagination Game: imagine your worries literally floating away like balloons [p.97] Imagination Game: being in the Now, dealing with stress, poor health, financial problems [p.183-4] Imagination Game: taking a " better and better pill " [p.223-4] Relaxation and Affirmation: " I am an excellent person " [p.275] Imagination Game: visualize symptoms of illness being swept away as debris [p.275-6] Imagination Game: creative imagery to discover a solution to illness (inner landscape, inner guide [p.276] Focus on healing and what you desire (for example: full range of motion) versus what you DO NOT want. And, in parting, I leave you with a quote from this Seth book: " Your ideas about your own health are even more important than those steps you take to promote it. " ~ Session 3/27, Page 158 Many blessings, MichelleH I posted on alternatives that you could do - including visualizing and/or watching someone else doing the exercise. Guest guest
Dear Kathylee- In the book, Donna talks about what to do if you cannot physically do the exercises. You visualize doing what you can't physically do, and do what you are capable of. Eventually, your capabilities will increase. I have seen people in wheelchairs, with zero mobility gain benefit from Energy Medicine. Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune disorder, so the most impostant things to do would be get yourself out of homolateral & unscrambled, and work on your Triple Warmer Spleen balance.
