Guest guest
Hey Doc – seems like the juicy part of most threads end up in my “junk mail folder”. Can you repeat – if you take 1 tsp of olive oil per day by mouth do you also massage the area with peanut oil? Is this used only on sore joints, or can it be used on any stiff sore muscles? What is the difference in what the olive oil and what the peanut oil are doing? And while we’re talking about oil, what do you think about organic coconut oil? Have you ever tried it? It’s said to be particularly helpful for hypothyroid condition. 1 TBS with each meal is recommended. Can be used to cook with or taken straight. Is said to be more stable than almost any other oil. Liquid at 75 degrees F, solid below that. I tried it and noticed I was warmer – a good indication of increased thyroid function. Thanks, Judith

Hi Judith, When we get older (both of us qualify) the connective tissue of the body gets more brittle. So ligaments stretch and stay stretched. So joints get loose. Cartiledge tears and actually bursts apart. > Can you repeat - if you take 1 tsp of olive oil per day by mouth Yes. By mouth. And do it daily. Be persistent about it. Like doing your morning shower, or brushing your teeth. It will revivify the connective tissues so the pain disappears and some of the proper flexibility, stretching and contracting are functional again. > do you also massage the area with peanut oil? According to Cayce peanut oil has a special quality that can rejuvenate inner healing of those tissues. Needs to be applied with the hand, and with massage for 10 minutes. Blessing the part being massage is also very good. > what do you think about organic coconut oil? It's not mentioned in any readings I know of. The only person that has mentioned that coconut oil, as far as I know is the marketeer who sold the weight loss solution. As far as I'm concerned he's almost all hype so I do ignore his recommendations. But Castor Oil packs are very good for much. I've posted about them before. I normally use olive oil, peanut oil, castor oil, massage, ice packs, Energy Psychology, and elevation for those athletes that come to me with sports injuries. Sincerely, John M. Guest guest
Judith, Re the Coconut oil. You might want to slow down on taking one TBS with each meal to avoid possibly getting close to bowel distress. I would start with only one TBS a day and then up the ante as things go well. Make sure the oil is not from copra since it is processed a lot. When I was losing too much hair, 1 TBS a day of coconut oil slowed it down a lot. I cannot say what other good stuff might be happening. I do like the flavor and use it instead of butter on my veggies. Love the taste on green beans especially. Guest guest
Thanks, muchly. I have used castor oil packs over the years with dramatic results. When I had active Crohn’s disease it was castor oil packs that finally started turning the dramatic episodes around. This was long before I’d heard of qigong, and years before Donna and David got out the first printing of Energy Medicine. Guest guest
Thanks, Dana. Sounds like it’s a general all round immunity enhancer, taking care of lots of little pests that may be hanging around J. And I LOVE cumin. I’m apt to put it in EVERYTHING. Now I’ll have to try to olive and peanut oils.
