Guest guest
Over the years I have collected (gathered) stones. Picking up ones here and there just because I like them. Some as a remembrance of where we have been. Now I would like to be able to identify them. I bought a good picture book of stones, but for the most part they are so different from the pictures. Do you have stones without names just because you were attracted to them? Is there one good picture book you could recommend for identification? Thanks, Barb

Guest guest
I bought the Melody book, sealed shut so you can't see in & $35. When I got it home I couldn't recognise anything at all. Even the common stones don't look the same. What a waste of money. I wonder if she photographed just the unusual specimens rather than the ones we actually see. Now I use " Gemstones of the Worls " by Walter Schumann. I like the geology books for their visual clarity. Evelyn

Yes I have lots of stones that I cannot identify and I have not found a good book yet Someof my favorite stones are unnamed finds withsome of them I may just do what I think some of the experts do and just give the stone a name of my choice Peggy -- Huna, Angels, Crystals, fairies, the aura, Reiki manuals, spirituality} http://www.geocities.com/solarraven/index.html Sparrows Fairyland} art http://www.geocities.com/pjentoft/index.html Spirited emotion} http://members.tripod.com/~sunsparrow/index.html Heretic Sanctuary http://people.we.mediaone.net/skygreen/index.html
Guest guest
The stones I have that I can't identify are kept next to my computer. Every once in awhile I get a name. Most of the time I see one that I thought has already been identified. And I have to go back and re label it. It's never ending. I have a problem with Howlite. There's a stone that's dyed that looks just like it (can't remember for the life of me now the name) *~~*~~*~~ Linda in Florida ~~*~~*~~* The grass isn't greener on the other side...It's greener where you water it! ³³´`*:§»«§:*´`³³³´`*:§»«§:*´`³³³³´`*:§»«§:*´`³³³´`*:§»«§:*´`³³ email protected by http://www.grisoft.com
Guest guest
Yes, colored stones seem to have strong healing powers. My partner and colleague, Dr. Angela Blaen, is an electronic gem therapist in England. She heals with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and such stones. She uses highly sophisticated medical equipment that oscillates and enlivens the healing properties within each gemstone and the equipment delivers the healing property through dialectic resonance through the body at celluar and atomic levels. The results are often extremely striking, even known to abort near death situations in cancer development. Most wonderful work! Indians have healed with such stones successfully for over 5,000 years...I think in so many cases, we are only now beginning to catch up with the ancients. I try to hear their voices.
