I am looking for reputable websites(preferably in Canada then the US) where I can purchase crystals online from honest people. I realize it's better to see them in person but some times that is not always possible. Also, what are good books on crystals that have good pictures in them to see the actual stones so you can learn to recognize them. I went to the gem & mineral show today. I got a few nice stones. A few of them really called to me. I knew because I kept going back to them!! I got a Labradorite,tiny little garnet that flashed at me!! I also got Kyanite, a Phantom crystal, a single terminated that flashed a rainbow at me, a blue flourite quadron?? And a HUGE rose quartz and a HUGE Amazonite. I asked one of the dealers about a record keeper and he didn't know what I was talking about. Guess he's more of the rock collector personality than the metaphysical personality!! He said that if I gave him the mineral(technical) name he could tell me!! Anyway had lots of fun and hope to go back next year. I also saw a little bag of Larimar stone but I didn't want that many of them and I could have spent lots more money. But as I did I only spent $60 which I thought was good for me so with money left over I guess I'll go to my " Witchy " (No insult meant here, my Dad calls me a witch all the time!! And tells everyone I am one!!) Store tomorrow and get my layaway. I laid away a Labradorite ring and must get some more good books on crystals. Sorry for rambling. Have a great weekend. It has a very useful colour-pictorial reference guide, and all kinds of other basic info. Like you I'm a beginner, and I think this book'll be very useful, although I expect to outgrow it in time.
