IMHO, the center crystal for a grid should *define* what the grid is intended

for. Rose Quartz is excellent for healing and balancing the heart chakra -

opening up ones heart. :)

We seem to be working a bit differently with our grids. :) And I do think

that is fine - just a different approach. I *anchor* my grids in the four

directions with clear quartz crystals, and the center stone always reflects

the intention of the grid. Added stones bring different energies to the grid.

I have found it to be both interesting and empowering to work with energy

grids. :)

MM Rene and ClassMates;

When working with grids/sacred geometry and stones, the purpose of the cent=

er stone is to have it to SEND the energy outward toward the goal. It will =

not do this accurately of itself. Depending on which 'shape' you decide to =

grid your stones into, you will have to connect them [by sending a beam of e=

nergy through it] in the appropriate direction using a selenite wand or a ge=

nerator point, in maybe clear quartz or amethyst. Often with gridding and r=

eiki workers, the selenite is a preferred choice because it a channeler of t=

he light, period. Also selenite usually doesnt have a motive, like some sto=

nes have when they come into our lives. This is not a bad thing, its just th=

at your results may not be as good if you are using a stone that has another=

purpose for helping us.

If you are a Reiki practitioner, you can charge your stones with the Reiki =

after you have constructed your grid, or other methods of energy transfer yo=

u desire.

I have not programmed any of the stones I use in the grids I have set up. =

I just choose stones according to the purpose for which I wish the grid to w=

ork, and go from there.

Hope this helps,

There is more than way to do a crystal grid the only rule is that there are no

limitations

I often place a stone that defines the grids purpose in the center

Though perhaps the generator point center is more common I use a crystal

sphere sometimes

and I want to get a citrine oblesk because they are often very effective

some grids do not even have center stones

Bonnie it is fine to work as you will, and of course, I was answering the

question based on >my< experiences with them. Defining, anchoring, whateva, is

clearly different in each case. I personally dont see the need to 'define' a

grid, with a center stone, when by your very actions, thoughts and deeds, not to

mention the choice of stones, it has already been defined.

So when the question of the center stone's 'function' arose, this is the sort of

thing I was thinking of. The tumbled stones need some help as far as the

direction in which the energy should be sent, which is determined by who is

building the grid.

I know some people use variety of stones, in varying shapes and that is their

right, and choice. Eggs, Spheres have a more diffuse, rather than directional

energy. Now, if that is what you want, i. e. for a meditation grid, or a

'local' healing grid, then I guess that is fine. If you have a stronger or more

defined phase of energy work, say for distance healing, or manifesting, I would

still recommend a generator with an appropriate set of facets and what not. If

you are using tumbled stones in your sacred geometry, linking and such should

help the girds power..

At the risk of sounding really ignorant, (which I am about this), what

is a " grid " and how do you " make " one? Is it simply placing the

crystals in a square or circle on a table? (with or without one in the

center)? or is it a permanent thing? In other words, once you " make "

this grid, is it suppose to stay made?If so, for how long? there is so

much I don't know and don't understand!!!

Sorry for sounding so ridiculous!
