Shain,

Thanks for all the great information. I think what I will do to start is to

find some lake or river rocks and tumble them to check out the tumbler. That way

I won't be " wasting " the energy in the stones if the tumbler doesn't work.I have

some lake rocks that have tumbled into great little gems.:-)

dont discount the possibility that the lake and river stones will have as

much or more healing energy or information as the fancy gems and well

known " name brand " stones

I don't actualy think one can " waste " the energy it may disconnect from a

particular stone but its not destroyed Good luck on your tumbling

I agree with Peggy 100% on this also,

but it a whole nother story when you have to pay for any

rock/stone/crystal, instead of gathering it yourself for a test run.

the powers of these riverrocks/or normal stones are just as

powerful, if not more in some cases, than gemstones that would be

more mainstream or sold at certain prices.

But lapidary supplies can be very expensive when atemping to cut the

stone. So ones who starts off, or starts again, goes with the

Cheapest ones they can get there hands on, so not to waste money on a

mainstream stones that they might riun. Becasue it really is allot of

trial and error with cutting stones in any medium. And not everyone

wants to spend retail amounts when just starting off in lapidary.

i pesonally do take all stones into consideration before cutting.

some i spend hours/days/weeks with in meditation, before attemping to

cut. most will show me how they want to be cut. Thats why i

personally dont like to tumble stones. becasue i work with each one

indviually. just like they work with me.

poeple starting off in lapidary will go with whats aviable, then

worry about what they truely want to cut later. I feel from my

experinces in the trade, that all must be taken into consideration.

TO abuse anystone will only breed igornace and bitterness. I seen it

happen to allot of vendors in this trade.. they may be willing to

help, but there always a looming feeling of unhappyness. even though

they may be surrounded by wonderful stones. They are generally un-

happy and bitter. but i have only seen this happen in certain cases.
