Guest guest
Hi All, I want to ask if anyone knows about what looks like to me...'a bleeding meteroite'. This past June a meterorite was given to my son, by a dealer who came to the Tokyo Gem and Mineral show. When he received it , it was a bit rusty. he was told to get a metal brush and clean it up. since then i have kept it on 'display' in the living room. I have noticed that it is dripping something, and since the color is once again gotten 'rusty' looking the seemingly liquid drips, look almost like blood. It's a large chunk bigger than a fist. By the way, don't know if it has anything to do with it, but the weather here in Tokyo is very hot and humid, and we did just go through a rainy season that went 2 weeks overtime. How can I care for this meterorite? Please advise. love light and peace, BarbaraWindDancer

Yep, I'd say the humidity and heat etc. could do a great job of rusting the meteorite . I understand that the level of photo-chemical smog has gone down a lot since the 60s but I presume that there could still be a number of things in the air that could effect minerals . The process of disolution is also a natural one perhaps a bit of meditation and seeking information from the meteorite Deva will provide some guidance
Guest guest
Don't know about your meterorite, but the stone from Italy I was talking about had what looked like rust on it when I took it out last night. We have had very, very hot and humid weather here too in Canada. Love Always, Butterfly Post your free ad now! Canada Personals
Guest guest
Dear Peggy, Thanks for the reply on my 'bleeding meteortie'. I'll see what happens when i take your suggestion. love light and peace, BarbaraWindDancer , " Rosequartz " <rosequartz@c...> wrote: > > Peggy Jentoft http://solarraven.com > > > room. It sounds if you either have an iron of nickel-iron meteorite, as evidenced by the red precipitate. The cause could be physically linked with the increased humidity in the air, resulting in condensation on the meteorite, which then reacts forming what is essentially extraterrestrial rust and appears blood-like. One remedy that some meteorite collectors I have met over the years resort to would be coating the meteorite with a very light coating of oil of some kind, acting to protect it from water, condensation and rust. You can apply some oil and then wipe the majority off, leaving only a very fine layer. Others will resort to chemical protectants, like varnishes and such, but I personally consider this a very poor option since they can change the energy of the meteorite and create a deadened feel. I always feel very sorry for stone spirits that have been varnished, like specular hematite for example. What I do find interesting is the way this bleeding coincides with the dance of Mars and the Earth Mother. These are extremely powerful and important times and the closeness of Mars (represented in the world of metals by Iron) and the Earth Mother brings us significant medicine, challenge and opportunity. While I believe that you can likely trace the " why " to the physical event of humidity, I do not believe that negates the other possible messages inherent in this event relative to the timing of the Mars/Earth Mother dance. In the event it might be useful or of interest to anyone here I will forward my own interpretation and understanding of this event as given to me during deep listening.
