Iraq - very interesting

IRAQ -- VERY INTERESTING -- DID YOU KNOW ?

 

I thought too that this was very interesting, but also that we can't separate

the past from the present, they are inter-connected. On that point, where I

live there is a very large Islamic community. I had a really interesting

discussion with one elderly gentlemen on the subject of stones which have great

spiritual significance in the Islamic religion. We got started on this

discussion as he was pleased I recognised the big tourmalinated quartz gem he

had in his ring, and he explained that stones that come from Afghanistan and

Iraq had great significance in relation to the Q'ran and its teachings, and that

the region around Baghdad itself is a source of some very important gemstones

for those of Islamic persuasion. We had a great discussion, he was particularly

interested in malachite, ruby and amber, and I thought how important it was to

look to that which unites us all as beings of Divine Love, not what divides us

down here on earth.
