Guest guest
dt.27.2.2004 i shall be very obliged if reiki practioners in this group or their friends could enlighten me on the following points:- 1. whether they are doing any protection before giving reiki to self or others. 2. if so what. in case they have tried with so many systems , which one they find the best. 3. any practice which might have enhanced the power of reiki & whether it has resulted in faster healing. as part of my research, i want to know about this. since every reiki teacher has its own way, exchange of information about the success of some systems could benefit reiki practioners as they can also try & see the results. so many members are normally not active in posting. i would also request them to share their knowledge on the above point which is for general good. i am sure there is nothing secret in this. d.k.kothari
Guest guest
As I know that Reiki works 'for the highest good', I don't use any protection for myself or others. I have been attuned to Kundalini Reiki which I believe has deepened my reiki flow and meditation. Hope this helps. While it is true that many of us are also Reiki Practitioners, and incorporate Crystals in our healing work, your questions might be better directed to a Reiki Group, of which there are many out there. 1:> As far as I am concerned, and when I teach, Reiki comes with many built-in protections. However, good Awareness of being Grounded and Centered in your Intent are always good starting places before beginning any treatment. During my meditations I also address the issue of continuous protection with my Reiki Guides and leave the rest up to them; always giving thanks. 2:> Honesty in my Intent for healing to the highest good of the client works best. 3:> Daily self-treatment is the best way to enhance Reiki " Power " . To become familiar and intimate with Source and to realize, and understand, and LIVE, the ideal that we are but a channel for the Gift of Reiki. Working with others, whether great or small, results in the best healing. Reiki heals on the levels of the Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Planes, we really have no control over what gets healed, as Reiki ALWAYS works to the Highest Good of the client. In general, that turns out to be the most obvious complaint at hand, But not always. Peace and Love, Byron
Guest guest
I'll jump out of lurkdom here and share my practices I do not feel the need for protection when doing Reiki on myself as I have been taught and believe that Reiki energy can do no harm, I do however, sometimes call on my spirit guides and Reiki Guides to assist in a self treatment. When I work on others I do some protection, more from any unbalanced emotions and energies the person may be carrying than from the Reiki energy process itself. 1. I always energetically cleanse and sage my treatment room before and after a treatment I find it best to check with clients on the sage, however, as some are very sensitive to the smell. 2. Before beginning a treatment I do a couple of Kanji hand positions and center and ground myself 3. Next with my eyes I draw a sacred circle around both the client and myself 4. I often have some crystal friends placed in grids underneath the treatment table as well as placed throughout the room. Various crystals dedicated for healing and protection 5. I always call on my guides and the guides of the person I am treating before I begin to help with the treatment. I ask my guides to protect me from any energies which are not for my highest good and do the same with the client's guides. I also call on the assistance of all Reiki Masters who have gone before. 6. I ground my self and my client after the treatment is completed. If the treatment was really intense, I will give my client a nice big piece of black tourmaline to hold for a few minutes, and of course encourage us both to drink lots and lots of water. To answer your third question. I find it very powerful to call on guides for assistance. They are more than willing to help, but often will not unless asked. I also find using crystal grids to be very beneficial. In my experience they tend to really amplify and focus the healing process. I believe one must be careful as to how much/many additional healing modalities you use in one treatment. Especially on someone who is very sensitive to energies or has never before experienced any type of energetic healing. I am also trained in other modalities of energetic healing e.g. methods used by Rosalyn Bruyere and Barbara Brennon and sometimes incorporate some of their methods into a Reiki session, as well as others that I have been given over the years, especially if I come across a particularly large energetic block. I also find that the more healing hands you can get on a person the better. I cannot express in words just how powerful team healing really is. If you haven't experienced giving or receiving a team healing, I encourage you all to try it out. VERY POWERFUL. Thank you for the opportunity to share. Good Afternoon! I wanted to thank Peggy for this wonderful forum. I also agree with Byron that not all of the members of this group are Reiki practitioners, but since I am, I am happy to share: 1. I start each day with prayers of gratitude and protection. I also do smudging with incense, or sage, or cedar. I use singing bowls to clear the energy in a given space -- metal singing bowls as well as crystal howls. I use crystals for nearly everything, as well as candles for clearing energy, too. I use Reiki for clearing energy, too. 2. " Best " is not the term I would use; I use simply what comes naturally in a given situation. Sometimes this is what I have at hand. 3. In addition to Usui Reiki, in which I am a master teacher, I am attuned to the first level of Brahma Satya Reiki, which attunement did serve to deepen healings, I think. Here are some things I have been experimenting with: 1. Using the remote crystal healing shakti (the basic idea being as we are mostly water and water is mostly crystalline, running the crystal healing shakti on people might prove to be of assistance with their personal process of healing) on distant clients. 2. Using crystal bowls to clear energy remotely (this I've just started and it has been very effective -- if others would be willing to try this and share with the group that might be interesting). As far as personal protection goes, I think working on ourselves every day is the least we can do. As I understand it, all humans have a healing process they are dealing with -- using the term healing in its broadest sense, that of an effect of the whole being (seen and unseen bodies, as it were). That being the case, we are acting in our " best " interest as we do self-reiki on a daily basis. Those of us who are not attuned to reiki might benefit from working with their crystals and stones on a daily basis. I also understand the crystals and stones are willing and able to help us in many ways, and as I work with them I am often humbled to be the receiver of their assistance. In addition to having a crystal partner I work with 24/7, I also have different crystal pals who come with me either on my person or in my car or on my computer or on my desk at work or at the head or side of my bed -- all subject to change without notice, it seems! I was just sharing this morning with someone that my life has changed so dramatically since I've been working with the crystals and stones, it is wonderful to contemplate. The good news is, they are willing and able to be of assistance to us all! Love, Light and Blessings to us all, Diana
Guest guest
dt.27.2.2004 i shall be very obliged if reiki practioners in this group or their friends could enlighten me on the following points:- 1. whether they are doing any protection before giving reiki to self or others. Quite frankly it never occurred to me that I would need any. Perhaps that attitude is the best protection? I think of Reiki as being the protection! 3. any practice which might have enhanced the power of reiki & whether it has resulted in faster healing. I practice Reflexology, which combines delightfully with Reiki. A typical session lasts an hour. I start with the first Reiki positions on the head, neck, up to the heart. This takes about 15 minutes. Then I switch to Reflexology. By the time I move to the feet my client is deeply relaxed already! Applying Reiki to the reflexes on the foot can be felt in the corresponding part of the body. If a reflex is tender and congested, rather than continuing applying Reflexology , I will switch to Reiki . When I resume Reflexology the reflex will be much less tender. When I first started to practice Reflexology I got really tired. Once I was protected by Reiki I did not take on other people's vibrations and I felt energized after a session! Now that Reiki is so wide spread I would like all school children to receive a first degree as a matter of course. Both my kids have Reiki 2. They got it as teenagers. Guest guest
hello... am a reiki master teacher...new to my masters...so not quite the teacher yet when i was first taught reiki...i was told that protection was not required...because of use of the protection symbol at the beginning of your reiki session...but on odd occasions i did start to feel uncomfortable with this.. i use the 'roots in heaven' meditation exercise for grounding and protection that i learn't from my crystal healing school...if i feel like this...is also a good chance to clear your mind and totally focus on the job in hand as part of the meditation is to let the day go, so to speak..is a very beautifull and calming meditation and i use it in crystal healing...reiki..and i also do magnified healing..and absent healing...i use the roots in heaven exercise...not only for grounding and protection...but as i have said..a chance to dump the day's pressure's and to centre and focus..i even use it to calm myself if i can't sleep!!..its technique is fairly basic...and considering me being a very energetic person..was suprised at how easy it was to do... i always cleanse the room first...with either sage...or cleansing herbs...and candles...help create an ambient atmosphere for the client...( but also for me ) it starts by you visualising yourself, breaking out roots from the souls of your feet into the earth....down to it's core...to a ball of light right at it's very middle....then...you visualise drawing this light...up through your roots....into your body....absorbing it's cleansing calming energy...taking all your stresses of the day...all your anxiety with it....as it flows ..through you....and out through the top of your head... next.. you visualise a beautifull light above the top of your head..( i usually go for gold or white )and you drawing it down...through your body....and out through your feet.....down through your roots....and back, to replenish the ball of light at it's core...i kind of visualise myself being made as a 'circuit' of a continual flow, of cleansing and protective light...finally drawing it's energy out...through the top of my head...and it cascading into a shower. a bit like a waterfall about myself whilst still drawing the light in through the top of my head...to replenish. that which i have taken...and i ask for protection, for both me and the client...i love the feelings at this point...like a proper earth connection...enveloping and protecting me...( and your client...if you wish ) whilst focussing on us both being grounded and protected...i ask for any guides...or angels..to step in. to help both myself and my client...if they are required...in the highest interests of the client also that any excess, may be free to be directed...to wherever it is needed...and back to the angels and guides for their assistance ..i also use magnified healing...and my reiki symbols. as a means of protection and direction when doing my absent healings..and when using crystals...reiki often comes in of it's own accord, is not really a sense of magnification with it.but then ..i believe that what is required...will be given....if you wish to amplify your reiki...then do the next degree...or your masters again.use crystals...a prayer....but is my oppinion...that reiki is enhanced by both practice...and again intention..reiki always does a little more than is required..and i trust that i am being given..just that....what is required... was lovely reading all your experiences... i hope this helps...am sorry for any errors....and if i have repeated myself...has been a very long day..hehe as ever..** sighs **...but sooooo wanted to send you my reply today.. much love light and warm regards.... Guest guest
dt.5.3.2004 so kind of you to respond. it appears that my presentation of the problem earlier was wrong. people started thinking that what i am saying is due to reiki, dark entities may come. i shall try to clear the subject. reiki will surely clear negative energies. these also are on different levels. the reiki power which is flowing through you and others cannot be the same. it depends on your own spiritual practice as well as the time you use as also purity of your heart. in the process of clearing, so many times, the lower levels are cleared and not the higher levels. these higher levels can know due to the flow of reiki - from where it is coming and attack the sender. it is this situation which i was sharing with others and trying to say that better protect yourself . you are doing very well and it has given me lots of input. reiki cannot attract dark entities . it is this way we may be effective and i have been misundertood and little bit abused also. however, my questions were meant to protect me and may be others who take cue to do it so that while giving reiki, they are not bothered. around 65 people from different parts of the world have written me and most of them had problems and how they did it. this gives me a new assurance that next time i give reiki, i may better insured. your description was such poetically inspiring that i even forgot to type and enjoyed everybit of it. thanks. i am also magnified healing person. it includes one of grounding exercise. do you think it is powerful enough. i did get some extra-ordinary results and even giselle king wrote me about other similar experiment in brazil. i would love to share your experiences with this. d.k.kothari -
