We are enveloped, this morning, in a thick, acrid cloud of

woodsmoke. They have opened a shelter here in Winslow, approximately

100 miles from the actual fire " scene. "

 

I just heard on the radio this morning that they expect a press

conference here in about 3 1/2 hours - they will be announcing home

losses in the hundreds, approximately 400 homes burned yesterday and

last night in the Heber/Overgaard area. It almost feels like we are

in the midst of nuclear destruction - EXCEPT for the fact that there

have been no serious injuries, and no deaths, directly related to

these fires. (Thanks being sent up for that....)

 

IF the fire hits Show Low today, as expected, home and business

losses could reach into the thousands. I have never experienced

anything this horrific. The fire has a 50 mile " front " and has

already consumed over 393 square miles of beautiful, prime timber and

Hopefully we can get word out to more people about your prayer time

for 7 pm MST this evening. Any of you who are on other lists, could

you please post the request to lists?

Dear all,

 

I am in a dark place right now and i hope you all could say a lil prayer for me

or send me a lil light to let me find my way back. I go throught this now and

again with my depression, but today is a bad one. Thank you all.
