I completely concur. I understand the concern about keeping the terms and the energetics behind the terms clear for ourselves but especially for students. It is common for an idea, such as the unified concept of moving and nourishing blood, to be globalized by inexperienced students. After all the basic flavor of moving blood herbs is pungent which has the potential to disperse the blood. In terms of San Qi, I am quite cautious with it. I see it as a blood harmonizer, as you say, only when there is stasis. The caution I have been taught to use with it tells me that it is not inherently supplemental. Until this discussion, I have not ever heard or used it as a " Bu " herb. Best, Sharon
